    Happy Rip vs Washington Day

If I recall correctly there was some illness making its way through the team and he just ran out of gas once the buzzer sounded. I was in attendance at this game, just a middle schooler at the time. It is still one of the greatest moments of my life, and I try not to think too much about what...

Only reason any of this is possible

It is mind boggling to think of the journey we as UConn fans have witnessed over the past 30 years. I was telling my son the other day that I am old enough to remember a time before we made a Final Four, and look where the program is now. Doesn’t seem real, and it all started with the...

I Know We have this question all the time but…

The 1 seed always plays the noon game Thursday, but that said… Fox Sports app/website is likely your best bet unless you have a streaming service like YouTube TV or something.

    Who still plays with Lego?

Have had a great time getting back into Lego sets with my son the past few years (he’s 7 now). Probably the most fun we had was building a newer version of the pirate ship I had in my youth. Note - This discussion is much more my speed than the luxury watch thread. Now if it was a watch made...

    Chief’s Briefs - UNC Edition

If this team ever gets fully healthy, look out. Even if they get to like 90% there won’t be a lot of teams that can keep up.

    Indiana MSG roll call

Section 109 (+2) Such a shame about Castle, but it will be my son’s first ever UConn game in person so we are pumped

2022-23 UConn vs 1999, 2004, 2011, 2014 UConn, how does 2023 compare, whatIFsports will help to find out.

People sometimes forget how good the 1999 team was. We all remember Okafor’s back problems in 2004 — but the fact is that if Rip and Jake hadn’t gotten hurt before the Syracuse game, that team would have been one basket away from an undefeated season (referring to their loss to Miami on senior...

OT: Sleeper Sofa vs Murphy Bed

This thread is very timely, as we are just finishing renovations on what will be a den/guest room. The room happens to have large windows and I don’t think we have the wall space in there for a Murphy bed. I will be checking out the American Leather sleepers - has anyone had experience with...

OT: Best investment/use of real estate profit

You should have as few debt obligations as possible when you leave the workforce. It’s much easier to weather economic downturns in retirement (even if just from an emotional standpoint) if you don’t have a mortgage payment. If OP is 1-2 years from retirement they should be looking to reduce...

OT: Best investment/use of real estate profit

normally Normally I’d agree, but as a general rule I would advise anyone who is 1-2 years out from retirement to pay off their primary residence ASAP. And I don’t know when OP bought their current home but there’s a good chance their rate is much higher anyhow.

OT: Best investment/use of real estate profit

If you are 1-2 years from retirement, I'd seriously consider using it to pay down the mortgage on your primary residence. The less debt you have in retirement the better - and with such a short time horizon you may find you save more from paying the mortgage down than you would have made from...
