I agree with all of that - I don't believe I've ever trashed him or any of our players, that's not my style. I agree with you that it's not great tact.
I do, however, think sometimes guys have opinions on a players' game and it gets read on an internet board like "trashing."
So I'll say...
Player comps don't have to be exact as far as impact, just how the guy is built and plays.
I don't think anyone believes Colben is right now as good as Caron ended up, but he certainly fits the profile. He's a top 20 nationally ranked recruit, so the potential is there to be as good. But...
That's not scary.
People aren't anti-Ross or pro-Ross, despite what HuskyWarrior wants everyone to think.
We mostly came at his wild takes, not necessarily Ross.
Also, HW tends to say things in a definitive way then uses interesting argument techniques that rub people the wrong way. So then...
Well...I agree, but I can't prove that.
I was more saying to navery's point about him not saying it's different now. That IS what he's saying, it's becoming different and I don't want this. He's whining and trying to sound virtuous.
This dude is a beast. The kind of guy you hate guarding because he’s just naturally strong.
With his size and skills and our coaching staff, I think he’s going to be a stud. Very excited for another beast GA Guard.
People “coming for receipts” over a preseason article hoping Ross provides a jolt is funny.
Some people were talking about him being a major piece last year or 2 years ago. If he’s a viable bench piece giving 10-15 minutes a game and providing D and energy, that’s awesome.
It’s also not...
Why do you think he’s saying anything about it?
He’s talking about stuff being on the verge of changing and once it “officially” happens in his mind, he’ll stop.
He didn’t randomly think of a topic to bring up, he’s making a point to say “I’ve always been about helping kids and this new...
The reasons we all hate Cal are the reasons we take issue with him saying anything about how it’s changing.
I still don’t really get the point.
It’s not noteworthy for what was said, it’s noteworthy because of who said it.
Why is it different than before? If a kid is good and he can help their life, what’s different now vs 5 years ago? I don’t get the point.
Whether it’s transactional or not, he can still help kids. If that’s all he cares about, helping kids, then giving them a mill to play college basketball for...
What everyone is claiming is based on the actual headline. I don’t care about him or the article, and even more so if it’s the opposite of the headline. Who cares what he thinks. He’s a clown.
I agree, I'd call that pretty meteoric, but I guess that's semantics. Going from barely top 100 to top 20 is pretty impressive, especially as he's got a chance to still go higher.
