A strong argument can probably be made that the best way for the state to invest in football would be to give Jim Mora 30 million to go buy players next year and try to get into the playoffs that way as an independent. Better that than giving all of our money to the ACC so they can buy players.
It's all basketball related.
The question is, is football, with its exploding costs still worth it? Especially if you have to buy your way into a club that has already backstabbed us and tried very hard to kill us off.
We'd still be able to play at least two ACC games per year. If the PAC or AAC offered us a significantly better TV deal we need to strongly consider it. Next year's schedule is brutal and we won't have a Fagnano/Skyler Bell combo every year. Stacking a schedule full of P4 games when we can't...
If we can parlay this season into a decent, football only, PAC offer, or AAC offer we should take it.
Give the middle finger to the SMU deal, efff that.
Hopefully Jim Mora decides to make UConn his final stop...
...but just in case, let me be the first to say Pete Lembo has a great track record of doing a lot with very little. Heck, we only beat Buffalo by 3 points this year and we have much more talent than Buffalo.
Reed and Smith looked very good, expect them to push the starters (Solo and Demary) for minutes.
Would not be surprised if Mullins is our best player in March. Ray Allen 2.0?
Nobody quits their job because of a simple mistake, but they might quit their job if they feel something unethical is occurring. This really just confirms what we already knew and no doubt it was far more than this one play.
The underhanded referring needs to be factored into the equation when...
This isn't true. We won zero regular season P4 games last year. I guess the rats are jumping off the boat. Tough loss but Geez. (not talking about you specifically)
Momentum. We had no momentum going into last season, personally I never thought we had a realistic chance to beat Maryland, and after that blowout it felt like the program was still stuck in the mud. Right now it feels like the program is turning a corner and if we pull off the big upset...
I will cut against the grain and say the potential exists for this to be a bigger win than the Notre Dame game which in hindsight did very little for us.
A win tomorrow would hopefully rejuvenate the fanbase (sell tickets) and potentially set the stage for us to be undefeated when we play BC...
Wesley Walker great Jets WR who played with terrible QB's and mostly bad teams. He was always open. Put him on those great Steeler teams and he would be far more famous than Lynn Swan as he was a much better player.
I miss playing baseball. The anticipation and adrenaline of a big game. Warming up with the catcher prior to taking the mound. Seeing my parents in the stands.
Strike one!!
