At the risk of continuing this hypothetical argument…
Karaban has well documented struggles defensively against big/athletic 4s.
Hoping if we play Duke/UM we get more creative with matchups and Karaban doesn’t spend significant time matched up on Boozer/Yaxel. That is not likely to go well.
No more discussion of matchups, crying about our paltry advanced metrics, or debates on Karaban’s place in the Husky pantheon (if you want to argue back and forth with someone all day go do it with your wife and spare the rest of us).
Let’s prime the mojo machine people. Contribute if you have...
I wish he did that all season. I would rather him play the long game to develop the bench guys at the expense of a few bumps in the road during the season.
two years in a row where we have a few significant personnel/scheme mismatches.
so either we aren’t making the right personnel decisions, or we aren’t good at adapting the scheme to the personnel we have.
my other 2cents is that I wish Hurley gave a little more rope to guys and prioritized...

all of the issues that contributed to our loss vs St Johns are themes which have existed all year.
astute coaches/players would have already recognized them and taken steps to address them.
One of my main concerns is I’m not sure how we can realistically make a tournament run with a single point guard…
Figuring out this Smith situation is one of the top priorities.
Aside from the obvious turnovers and free throws…
Poor rotations from Hurley (pulling Reed in 1st half while Zuby stayed in game led to 7-0 run). Reed should have been on the floor every minute Zuby was.
Smith continues to be useless. This is becoming a big problem that will continue to get...
I think our recent tournament “over performance” vs regular season is a combination of a few things: the team coming together late, being free of the Big East refs, and non-conference teams lack of familiarity with our offense.
Really want him to become much more assertive trying to get his own offense (he did much better against Prov I think out of necessity). He needs to start playing with the mindset that he is the best player on the court at all times.
We don’t have many guys that can go get their own bucket and...
