2025-26 New school commitments by Transfers

It always appears that way since UConn operates under the radar. I am sure Geno and his staff are locked in. They have certainly delivered in the past. Uconn definitely has numbers in the backcourt. KK, K9, Kelis at the point; Shade and Allie at the off-guard; Jovana may be a combo guard (saw...

OT: Nika Mühl out for 2026 season

Best wishes to Nika on April 9, her 25th birthday! My favorite Husky ever!

Wow, didn’t see this transfer coming

The moon would be a decent addition, even though it tends to fade during afternoon games. However, given UConn's need for rebounding, I would go for the cow instead. A real jumper, that cow. A tour of the campus should seal the deal.

    Ice Brady in the portal

Best of luck to Ice Brady as she moves on from UConn to further her basketball career elsewhere. Unfortunately her injuries defined much of her UConn career, but one of her finest moments came stepping up during the Big East Tournament in 2024 when others were injured, most notably Aaliyah...

    2026 Transfer portal

Yesterday I was told 94 Feet lacked credibility. Now that it was shown to be correct the problem is stealing. I'm confused.

    2026 Transfer portal

So 94 Feet WBB was right after all.

    2026 Transfer portal

There is a broken heart emoji in the second Geno post, which is 94 Feet WBB's symbol for a transfer out. 94 Feet used the same emoji in the other Geno post the other day before Ayanna announced her portal entry.

    2026 Transfer portal

Poole played for OSU in 2020-2021, the Covid season that did not count for eligibility purposes. So there is someone still kicking around from that era after all. I can't imagine there are many others.

    Ayanna entering the transfer portal

Best of luck to Ayanna, and I wish that that things had worked out better for her at UConn..... Some other UConn players like Q, Ines and Saylor found success elsewhere, and hopefully Ayanna will find success on the court as well. I have no doubt that her phone will be ringing! As a season...

    2026 Transfer portal

I have heard Himnusz, the Hungarian National anthem, played at Gampel Pavilion. Twice. It is beautiful. Hope to hear it at Gampel again in a few years.

OT: Nika Mühl out for 2026 season

Best wishes to Nika - just devastating news. From what I could tell Nika had elevated her game on the offensive end after coming back from her first ACL injury, witness the game for Croatia in November 2025 when she hurt her ankle. One injury after another. Now this is the other knee, same...

Tradition of Complaining About Getting Late Game Broken

I think that UCLA being in the other game helped with UConn getting the early game. It will be at 4 pm local time. Normally it is a two hour difference except that Arizona generally does not recognize daylight savings time, so they are three hours behind us easterners now. Oddly enough, an...

    Game Analysis - NCAA - Game 4 - UConn v. Notre Dame

I was at two of those - 2019, a Sunday afternoon in Albany, and 2022, a Monday night in Bridgeport. Both were incredible games. The 2022 game in particular, it was heart-stopping. Azzi and Paige willed UConn to victory that night. I am hoping for something less stressful today!

    Announcing for the UNC game

The men's game last night was called by Ian Eagle, Bill Raftery, and Grant Hill. I find three to be one too many, although somehow they pull it off. That game was thrilling and their announcing and focus on what was going on moment by moment added to the drama. They know the game and add insight...

    Fort Worth rims

My recollection is that going way back before the advent of "break-away" rims, the rims were thinner and more forgiving. The rims now seem to be thicker, to have more mass to them. Nevertheless, shooting percentages have gone up.
