Actually Bonedog made two amazing posts unless what you meant was UCONN can’t be better than what they showed in FF. Other than that, Bonedog is spot on. Though I'm not sure what he meant by tongue-in-cheek after but what he initially said in which you said was homerism isn't really overall...
Four points and being a little silly to boot:
1--- Superstars are superstars because they make players better. Last year SoCar had zero but had the heart of a champion and still got to Finals. The super players are going to make players 3 thru whatever better. Otherwise they aren’t a superstar...
Eleven players is more than enough. All that is needed is a decent bench. You win with your superstars. Look at SoCarl last 4 years (21-22 to now). Before last year for 3 straight years in NCAA they won 2 titles and had 2 superstars. And the team that beat them before last year was Iowa - a...
I'd be shocked if SoCar isn't back in the FF. Your team is a beast again this year. As is UCONN. And Texas tough too. And I think UCLA probably too. Just like last year these are the 3-4 beasts.
I love DT but I go with Stewie. All our preferences as to who we like show. For me why I don't use 02-03 and 03-04 to put DT over Stewie is when DT won it all, the team she beat Tenn, the 2nd leading scorer on the team was 2nd team All-American Kara Lawson. At best Lawson would have been the 5th...
I'm hoping for much more. She has guard skills which means we should also expect to some degree whether good or great is her ability to penetrate and finish, or make excellent "attacking" passes off her pentration setting up others.
Unless Aubrey was playing vs "Princeton," her ability to...
Just curious, using your logic above then how can you ever make a determination that some writer or analyst or announcer is bias based on what you've just said? No one is ever bias because both sides complain?
I agree with you. In regard to something like this – stick to what you believe. For example some posters probably believed right from the beginning UCONN was going to win. While others may not have believed until last minutes.
For me, I find it “staggering” that people don’t believe to some...
Can't cite all the incidents but I rarely read ESPN mostly becuase of the combo that many posters on here (UCONN fans and non-UCONN alike) know more imo about UCONN and/or basketball overall than quite a few ESPN writers/analysts. Also, I beleive MV hates/dislkes UCONN overall.. But here are...
I'm not arguing. But when did he say this? Because after the iowa loss, the above isn't what he said. If he did say the above then we're again trying to figure out "Geno-speak." Which imo is even more the reason there is no set in stone way.
There is no answer. Everything is a blend. Depending on coaching style, the type of team vs other teams, pace of play, injuries etc.
But 1 thing is for certain is that Geno specifically said after losing to Iowa that he could count much less the number of his games that his teams lost in NCAA...
Don't agree at all - as the poster Just_A_Fan makes mention and to paraphrase that - --- Caroline was a shell of herself in that title game. Nowhere near her best.
During the season she had 12 consecutive games of averaging 20 minutes or more. In 6 of those games she was the team's leading...
+1
I am a big time believer in Geno. I’ve defended him for many years(from bench, to small-ball, to starters etc) because I believe in his style. And he has done some amazing things I never saw coming. Super-great. But he is not perfect.
And with Tina he had a definite brain-freeze in her soph...
