Holy Cross has a fairly decent FCS team this year....an FBS team should beat an FCS team nearly always (and they do) but HC has been recruiting very well (for our level), had the experience of playing games in the Spring and is clearly a program on the rise.

FCS is actually a very expensive level to play at in that the costs to have a program at that level (scholarships, salaries, facilities etc etc) approximate that of the FBS-level but with nowhere near the $$$ (TV, Bowls, attendance) schools at the FBS can bring in.

HC's indoor practice facility and its ancillary training facilities are on a par with FBS programs like UConn's. Our stadium, though old, is at least on campus and provides some of the best sightlines in the country (right on top of the field)...
It is of course, but HC offers a lot more to Chesney than the added UConn $$$....better academics/kids to coach, facilities, quality of life etc.....the UConn $ is not worth the headaches....he'll leave HC but it won't be to UConn
UConn should still be 1-AA/FCS....good game today but Holy Cross was just the better program....stick to hoops (as we should have) and reel back on football
HC's strenght tomorrow will probably be its defense. Chesney is more of a "defensive guy" and seems to dictate his game-planning starting from there. He really hasn't had a dynamic QB at HC (since 2018)...so the offense has been mostly vanilla during his tenure. I think the game tomorrow hinges...
It's actually pretty comprable from what I've seen this week...for the size of the school, Holy Cross has pretty rabid alumni fan-base....we punch a lot ovah our weight lol, we love to bitch and moan too...
