    February UConn in the Pros

I was about to say that the bad month continues as Cam kinda struggled. But then he rattled off 3 buckets in a row late (2 threes and a tough fadeaway) to finish with 16 and help the Grizz seal a good win over the T-wolves. Ty Jerome just came back and is getting a lot of run on a minutes...

Clingan has a better second half. Finishes with 8-12-5 and 4 blocks on 3-10 shooting (3-4 in second half with a made 3).

    February UConn in the Pros

Really tough opening day. Jackson 0-5 in garbage time, Martin 0-2 in a blowout loss, Clingan 0–6 at the half and has blown 3 open layups/dunks, Castle out with a thigh injury, and Newton only had 10 in the G League after four straight games with 30. At least it’s a short month. With a break in...

I was hoping maybe they forgot to pack their shorts and had to wear practice gear.

    Creighton Post Game

As soon as we went up by 30, we gave up a 7-0 run. This could come back to bite us, if we can’t handle being up by 30. I’d suggest we get more practice.

At one point in the Elite Eight, Illinois went 10 minutes without scoring. And gave up 30 points. We sure were lucky they were so dang bad.

Sellers went down with a knee injury and we had to throw Toraino out there against Mourning and Mutumbo. And then Derrick Coleman. He didn’t even put up huge numbers - but he battled them big time.

Maybe paragraph text is too hard. Let me try doing this via bullet points. Calhoun did not play White meaningful minutes all year. Calhoun had health problems and took a leave of absence George Blaney filled in for Calhoun George Blaney played Marcus White Marcus White played very well Calhoun...

When we beat Syracuse - the eventual national champions with Carmelo Anthony - in the Big East semis, White had 14 rebounds and helped us dominate the glass against a front line of Anthony, Hakim Warrick, and 7-0 Craig Forth. In 1990 Toraino Walker was a huge part of our first ever Big East...

As you’ve already been told - Calhoun didn’t play him at all. When he got sick, George Blaney played him. Played so well that Calhoun was forced to play him too. He’s a big reason we beat Carmelo’s Cuse team in the BET. He took that matchup.

I wouldn't mind if the tradeoff was that we brought an A game or two around it and just crushed a team or two. Then the issue would be consistency and finding that A game level more often, as opposed to not seeming to have that level in us.

White redshirted in 2004 with a back injury. Only played 4 games. Then he had surgery in the offseason and never got back in the rotation again - be it lingering back issues or not being good enough. In 2005, Boone was the starting 5, with CV starting at the 4 and Ed Nelson backing him up...

He once sat Karaban from the 10 minute mark to the 3 minute mark in the second half because he wasn't playing well, and Stewart was giving us a lift. That was a Big East Championship game. Trophy was on the line and everything. Smith was kinda losing minutes in a hurry. His minutes were...

If you are too soft to play through the possibility of getting a hook, you are too soft to be out there in March. Sorry. Lot's of guys fell out of favor in JC's time. DeAndre Daniels was getting DNP-CDs at the end of Calhoun's tenure. Two years later, he's carrying us at times on the way to a...

As we all know, we played way better out of conference in 2011, 2014 and 2023 than we did in conference. Not saying it will happen again - but sometimes when we looked the part early, we looked it again late when we played teams unfamiliar with us. There is a blueprint forward that’s still sort...
