The football coach st Yale is a perfect gig. You have one game a year where winning is important. Other than that there is no pressure. He seems like a very knowledgeable guy but I doubt he is on any list for the UConn job.
I’ve been hearing the Pinstripe is very interested. They see a gazillion Husky fans filling the joint. Against a Big 10 opponent. Nebraska is what I heard but it could be someone else.
Of course it is also showing Alabama would beat Florida State, UConn would whip Rice, Syracuse and Delaware, and Miami would beat up SMU and Louisville. Of course none of those things happened because football games are played on the field by actual players under wildly differering conditions...
How did that guy not get fired? He still might if he loses to BC. He has a P4 team without even a hint of a backup quarterback? And they completely fell apart after the injury. Seemed like they basically quit. Their offense as bad but seriously? Usually you see a team put up a fight...
Different style but reminds me of the kid Liberty had a few years ago. He was projected by everybody as a P4 guy based on his numbers. Entered the portal and ended up at one of the G5 Texas schools where he wasn’t particularly memorable.
I’m not quite that upset but I absolutely get what you mean. Fenway had record attendance last year because UConn fans showed up. During the holidays you can take a day to go to Boston or New York. Getting to Birmingham is not as easy. It is warmer I guess. But it’s Birmingham.
JMU might beat us but it won’t be a mismatch. Talk about our schedule being weak. There’s was no better. They are everybody’s darling but they aren’t Ohio State.
That said I’d much prefer a P4. We got more respect for beating Carolina than we would for 4 James Madison’s.
As we’ve seen bowls are a crapshoot. Especially for P4 teams it’s more about who shows up. Remember Florida State going to the bowl 12-0 then basically having to start the bowling team after so many guys went to the portal or sat out for the NFL draft. I think they lost by 60 or so. Often...
He did. Then took the OC job in the NFL. I’m pretty sure he was one step away from being dumped at UCLA. His best year was 9-4. His final year he went 8-5. He was basically a.500 coach at UCLA. The guy he replaced had a much better record.
Interesting but you play the teams that are on your schedule. And most of them were scheduled 3-5 years ago. And we beat 9 of them. The only late addition was BC to replace UMass and if you tell me you thought they would be this bad, I know you are not telling the truth. Like everyone else...
