Week 18 - Championship Week! (schedules thru 3/8)

As a UConn fan, S. Carolina appears a bit scarier to me than does Texas. So if Texas moves into the 3 spot as Creme would have it, then UConn being dropped into the 2 spot wouldn't bother me.

    Shea on UConn

The model worked well for the Duke men. Alas, it worked less well for the Tennessee women.

    Shea on UConn

I suspect that some UConn fans, intoxicated with Geno's success, may have some serious sobering up to do when the man finally decides to hang it up. I'm not suggesting that a post-Geno UConn will necessarily sink to the irrelevance of a post-Barmore LaTech. I'm guessing it may be more like a...

    Shea on UConn

Blue chip kids don't come to UConn because of UConn. They come to play for Geno and to play in his program. When Geno retires it won't be his program any more, and all the banners hanging from the rafters will be Geno's banners, not the new coach's.

For the nostalgics, recommend watching an early season 1998 game against UCLA

Thanks. By the way, an unsegmented replay of the 1998 UCLA game and a zillion others is available at uconnhuskygames.com, a great resource for those who want to wallow in nostalgia.

For the nostalgics, recommend watching an early season 1998 game against UCLA

Is this the game where Swin scored for UCLA, and everyone laughed (except Shea) ?

Game Analysis - Game 26 - UConn vs Creighton - Part II

Creighton was young when we played them the first time, and they're still young. But the learning curve is steeper for freshmen than for upper classmen, so I would expect Creighton to be significantly improved, both individually and as a team, since the last time we played them. I wouldn't be...

The Big East May Be Our Home For A While

Last season ND played 6 ACC teams (Miami, NC St., BC, Pitt, Syracuse, and Stanford) Next year they will play 6 ACC teams (UNC, Stanford, Miami, BC, SMU, and Syracuse) Not sure whose schedules you were looking at.

The Big East May Be Our Home For A While

ND football is not entirely independent. I believe I read somewhere that they are contractually obligated to play at least five ACC teams each year.

Availability Report: Multiple players out tonight vs Xavier including Blanca and Serah (merged)

ESPN has UConn by 59.5. I guess they will have to revise the spread a whole bunch. 😎

    Week 10 - Jan 5 to 11

Is it possible that some voting head coaches delegate the filling out of rankings to an assistant? Yeah, I think it's possible.

Bottom, five teams in the NET

Those who lament the fact that UConn plays in the Big East can be thankful that UConn is not in the Northeast Conference where only one team (Fairly Ridiculous) has a winning record, and three teams (Central Conn, Mercyhurst, and St. Francis) are each winless at 0 - 11. I'm guessing this will...

    USF Postgame Thread

Jana is still a sophomore. She has more than two years left. If, as seems likely, the Big O will establish herself as the starting center, I hope and believe that Jana will have significant contributions to make on the teams of the next two years.

OT: UConn Football needs you to vote for Skyler Bell

OSU's Smith gets a lot of media attention and plays in big games. I'm surprised that Skyler from the football nether lands is keeping it fairly close.
