That was, I think, the UConn team we all thought we’d see all season after Florida. And Illinois. And BYU. And even Arizona. The bench showed the kind of depth we thought we would have. AK played great on both ends. And Reibe and Reed are a two headed monster.
It is getting late
The defense needs to show up
To reach the zenith
So move your damn feet
Stay in front and cut off drives
And stop the reaching
‘Nova is solid
Meet their intensity with
Stone cold will to win
There's a difference between playing below the rim and playing small. He plays smaller than he is. He doesn't use his big body to create space well. There are guys 6-7 to 6-9 that are playing below the rim that still play bigger.
Reibe needs to learn to use his height to defend bully ball inside (like Ejiofor & Hopkins and Peat and Lendeborg), without fouling. He does that and he's gold.
That goes for Reed too, who seems always to make himself smaller inside than bigger.
It is time to start
Playing like you will need to
Come the Ides of March
"Et tu, you Huskies?"
Georgetown will see just who knifes
Their sad hopes and dreams
The last 2 games look like the team settling down to know their roles, and how to be all they can on offense and defense.
Not much to say, except keep it up, boys.
