Patricia is an MIT grad. He would probably have the same problems as Belichick in college. I heard one analyst comparing Belichick to a College professor trying to teach PHD level engineering to a freshman science class and not understanding why he is just getting blank stares.
I heard the name Kevin Cahill from Lehigh mentioned. He is a former Springfield College QB, was an assistant at Yale for 6 years and in his first head coaching job his records at Lehigh progressed from 2-9 to 9-4 and is 12-0 this season.
There seems to be a lot of random criteria here. Hire or don't hire a DII or DIII coach, An NFL retread, a offensive or defensive coordinator... I'm sure you can find success stories and failures with each one. I just want a successful coach no matter what his background. I remember...
The problem with a guy like Chesney is he is probably already put himself on a path to a p4 job. How long would he be here before he gets that offer? Right now the only he doesn't get an offer is if he has a career setback. We don't want that to happen here also.
I would imagine Benedict has a list of candidates to replace any coach. What if Geno all of a sudden decides to retire or Hurley takes an NBA job ....? You have to be prepared for anything and can't be caught off guard. I would love to get a peak at those lists.
