Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

Depends on how much the Big12 can get in their next media deal. It seems that FSU is he’ll bent on getting out of the ACC and, if FSU/Clemson can’t get into the Big10, how much more would the Big12 contract get if they were in the league.

It looks like Football will "hold the most value" while basketball will have a smaller percentage. Another aspect of the deal is it will be easier to leave the conference by 2029-2030 school year. They reworked the contract so it will cost less than $100 to leave the ACC by the time the Big10...

    B1G Ramblings

Most of these athletes were traveling for tournaments well before they were in college. As a teacher, I have many of my athletic kids travel all around the country for all sorts of sports. I have had kids miss a week of school because they were 2000 miles away for a tournament. Hockey, soccer...

They want a school (or 2) in Florida. Being able to plant a flag and recruit athletes and, more importantly general student population would be a boon for every Big10 school. They all would love the opportunity to have a presence in Florida. FSU and, to a lesser extent, Miami would give them that.

I think you are correct. Thats why you are seeing so many rumors and movement. What we think it will look like is probably very different, but it will look different. It already has changed so much in the past 5 years. I have no doubt that the next 5-7 years will be very different.

Can they go football only? I thought if the league you were in sponsors a sport, you were required to play that sport in your conference. Since The MAC sponsors D1 football, they were required to play football in there. It’s all or nothing. It could have changed on the last few years but I...

I think it will survive, but cease as a power conference for football. If the agreed GoR end date is 2030, any school that can jump to the Big10/SEC will jump. Basketball may be different, but if the increased payout is mostly for football viewership, many of the ACC will struggle with their income.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

Higher Ed Times has an interactive website that listed who each university thought of as their peer and who thought them as peers. Michigan listed all the AAU schools as peers and nobody else so UNC was on their peer list.

UMass > MAC for all sports in 2025-2026

Yeah, but there’s just a tiny bit difference between UMass and UConn basketball. It wouldn’t be permanent, but I think UConn football would have a decent base in the MAC and grow from there.

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

Michigan State was the same in 2021. Mel Tucker had a Heisman candidate he pulled from the portal. Kenneth Walker had a dream season, won the Walter Camp and Doak Walker award and was a unanimous All American. Mel Tucker beat Michigan and was signed to a $100 million contract. The team was not...

OT: Florida State to sue ACC over GOR

The contract states that the GOR exists to satisfy the ESPN contract. What that means to the GOR is up for the courts to decide.

    Lock On- Zanetto

And it would crush the G5 schools as well. The payday they get for filling in the schedules of the big teams is why they play them. Some teams get well over $1 million to play at these big schools. They also get their brand on the broadcast. Its a win-win for both schools. FYI - UTEP is getting...
