I wonder what affect this would have on prep schools. Can't speak for all sports, but I know in lacrosse, sometimes college coaches will tell a committed high school player to go PG at X school for a year before getting to campus. Will those kids just go to a college instead?

I really don't understand why the portal can't just be pushed back? I understand it coincides with the end of fall semester, but most schools don't start up again until after MLK day. Is the CFP playoff still going to be going on then? Even if it was, by paying players we've already admitted...
