    Autry out at Syracuse

I meant mediocre programs. The openings are with programs that are perennially mediocre. Programs that don't have the same money or interest to compete regularly at the top of their conference. Rather than jumping to a mediocre P5 where it will be hard to compete, maybe Hodgeson is going the...

    Autry out at Syracuse

But not a lot of the big programs. Look at the P4+Big East. Cinci, Providence, ASU, 'Cuse, GTech, BC, Butler, KState are the only "majors" and those are all mediocre teams in those majors. I think that's it.

    Autry out at Syracuse

There aren't a lot of openings this year. I'm wondering if Hodgson is following the Dusty May route. South Florida isn't a bad gig (probably better than FAU was). Bet on yourself to keep things going until a real major team has an opening. I guess if Providence goes all-in and throws a ton...

    March General CBB Discussion Thread

From what I've read, Alabama is one of the few states that still thinks weed is a bad drug. Not just that they haven't legalized, but they treat it seriously. If this wasn't a Bama athlete, a pound of weed and cash would be a serious issue because it's most likely intent to distribute. It was...

    Autry out at Syracuse

I'll catch some strays for this. I'd be happy to see Syracuse continue to fail, but I think you guys are underestimating the job. The ACC is a legit P5 conference that I'd slot ahead of the Big East simply because the conference pays out a lot more money. Syracuse is still considered a...

That may be a bit extreme considering what's happening in Michigan, but I get your point. It just doesn't seem right that a terrible MAC team will get in over a last team out who is far from perfect, but is so much more deserving. Maybe it's also that the MAC will have 2 teams and the Big East...

    March General CBB Discussion Thread

I'm assuming Miami will get in, but I don't know how I feel about it. They played a terrible schedule in a terrible conference and had many close games. Part of me thinks they should penalize the MAC (and Miami) for being bad and having a conference tournament. It's the risk you take being in...

    Autry out at Syracuse

Maybe, but so much about the game has changed. If GMac can coach (looks like he can) and knows the ins and outs of selling Syracuse (which I'm sure he does), he may not be a bad call. With NIL and the portal, so much is just about putting together a complementary team and winning. Being a...

    Low/Mid-Major Conference Tourneys

I see nothing wrong with a mid-major conference protecting their top 2 seeds? They had the best seasons and you only get limited chances to get get at-large bids. I like when conference champs (or higher seeds) are rewarded in mid- and low-major conferences. It rewards the regular season, it...

Is University of New Haven Going To Go FCS?

Not saying it's a good or bad move, but I think UNH had to move up in football (or shut the team down) if they wanted to move up in basketball.

    Death Storm 2.0

Got my Ariens in 2006 from Home Depot. It's a smaller unit because my garage 20 years ago was tiny. Engine still runs great with occasional maintenance. It's been shaking this winter. I think it started after I ran over a frozen newspaper. It didn't break the pin, but it's not as steady. I...

    Death Storm 2.0

I'm in Northeastish NJ. I've been trying to stay ahead of the storm. I have a 20 year old snow blower. Quality machine, but it's compact so it doesn't have the weight to sometimes get through the really bad stuff the plows throw on to our driveway/sidewalk. Wen out last night at 11pm and...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

How awesome would FCS be if a chunk of the G5 dropped. I wouldn't be surprised if that's coming. What does a lower level G5 league really get out of FBS? We just lost a couple bowls that had G5 teams playing a P4. I'd be shocked if we didn't lose more bowls in the future. Less P4 teams are...

Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

The goal of Cal State schools is to provide accessible, high-quality, affordable public higher education that prepares a diverse student body for the workforce and fosters social mobility. Most of the Cal States (other than SDSU) have a lot of commuters, part-timers and people that can't...

Top 25 men's college basketball teams of all time

I'm just impressed they didn't put 98-99 Duke ahead of our 98-99 team.
