    Boys are looking good !

This team literally didn't miss one shot in the OPs video. They're gonna be crazy good. (Until the BY wants to bench AK for a walk-on or something)

    Hurley media presser

Remember when there was a thread about Singare being a “secret weapon” based on an 8 minute, 4 foul performance?

OT: What was your first job as a teenager?

Hallmarks Ice Cream in Old Lyme. Probably the most fun and miserable job I’ve ever had.

    Still great, but overrated athletes

Yes! Never understood why people used to talk him up so much. His stats were pretty ordinary most years and he benefited from being the third guy behind two legends and filling the lane in the greatest fast break ever.

    Still great, but overrated athletes

Again… you said he was a singles hitter. Nobody would refer to Yount, Evans, or Gary Carter as singles hitters and Jeter had a higher career slugging percentage even with Jeters last two or three years when his extra base hits waned. Jeter averaged more extra base hits a year than Ripken. I’m...

    Still great, but overrated athletes

The notion that he was just a singles hitter is a bit inflated. Jeter’s lifetime slugging average is higher than Robin Yount, Darrell Evans (who hit over 400 HRs) Gary Carter and many other guys who were thought of as “sluggers” in their prime. And the prototype for the “power hitting” SS...

    Still great, but overrated athletes

Loved Bernie, but you are 100% correct. He had to try and run down anything in CF bc he was always a step slow off the bat. And that arm was embarrassing. It’s actually kind of crazy thinking that they won three championships with Posada, Jeter, Knoblauch, and Bernie as your “up the middle”...

    Still great, but overrated athletes

I agree in the sense that he retired as a top 10-15 player all time. Phenomenally talented. His tragic death has some putting him in the top 5 and many forgetting how difficult he was in the post Shaq years. Even that great Olympic doc has this cast of doubts of if he’d buy in and not be a problem.

    Still great, but overrated athletes

    1) baseball Bo Jackson. Maybe the greatest athlete ever and highlight reel stuff, but there is this consistent narrative that he would have been a HOF baseball player. Yes, he was raw and perhaps would have gotten better, but his WAR shows he was just slightly above average. 2) “Big Game”...

    This Year’s Lineup

So Stew is going to play more than Solo and Silas and maybe AK? Huh?

What High School players did you watch live in HS and say 'NBA'

I watched Schea Cotton at TMore and thought he was the best player I’d ever seen. The “Manchild” nickname was legit. Bobby Moore from MCI/Hillhouse was next level good: thought he was the next AI. Oops.

What High School players did you watch live in HS and say 'NBA'

I remember watching Vin Baker dunk on my bros high school team and think that he was a bit different. Although that Old Saybrook had another guy who I thought was significantly better. Aaron something?

To piggyback on a previous thread- best atmosphere in sports

I went to a Maryland-Duke game at Cole in 02 when they won their championship. The atmosphere was absolutely insane and I’m sorry, there has never been a Gampel or XL game that I’ve attended that was remotely close. Penn State football is next level.

Best settings in U.S. pro sports?

Oh Camden Yards when it first opened was next level cool. But the possibility of being murdered if you took a left instead of a right was not.
