    Beer

Yeah, I know it’s too early.

OT: What was your first job as a teenager?

Sorting slimy, backwashed returnable bottles and cans in my brother's liquor store. Took that money right to the arcade behind the store.

    What are you binge watching?

Letterkenny on Hulu was fantastic. Over the top, quick-witted nonsense. Loved all 80+ episodes.

OT: Your Favorite 3 NBA Players of All Time

Bird - I was 10 when he faced magic in the NCAA championship. First one I really remember. The golden age of the NBA for Gen Xers. Dominique - So fun to watch. The dunks, the dunks and the dunks. Pete Maravich - Even more fun to watch. Brilliant scorer and distributor. 44 PPG in college with...

Cinéopolis - West Hartford "Dinner Theater"

That's cool. “A young couple can go out, see a movie, have a pitcher of beer, a couple of sandwiches and a box of popcorn for under $10. There aren’t many places left like that.” I remember seeing their showtimes listed in the Courant. The Gilson in Winsted has a dinner theater as well. Going...

Cinéopolis - West Hartford "Dinner Theater"

I absolutely love this place. Watching a movie on the "Big Screen" in a Barcalounger, with a good cocktail and good food. The Warden and I saw F1 there last night and it was a great night out. Food is a little pricey but more than decent and they have a full bar with a half dozen beers on tap...

    Yesterday was....

When I was tending bar at an Italian restaurant in the '90s the chef came out and asked me to make the kitchen a pitcher of "13s". I said "WTF?" and he replied "7 and 7!"

    RIP Diogo Jota

Jota and Ruben Neves were my favorite players when Wolves got promoted in 2018. I couldn't help but smile and get a little choked up watching him celebrate LFC's Premier League victory. This is gut wrenching.

    Bourbon & Rye

I really liked the Uncle Nearest 1856. Drinks smoother than 100 proof. I went in thinking there might be a resemblance to Jack because of the charcoal filtering and yeah, maybe some of the same sweet notes as Jack, but that may have been just my head. I dropped a bit of water in it on my third...

    Bourbon & Rye

Will do. It will be my vacation bottle.

    OT: Scotch thread

I picked up two bottles at Conti’s Wines and Spirits in Southington for $60. This is the 2023 version and the guy has a couple more cases of it. It is finished in White Port and Madeira casks and is really nice and an absolute steal at this price. When you taste it, you know it’s Laphroaig, but...

    Bourbon & Rye

Was given a bottle of Uncle Nearest 1856 last weekend. A quick search says no mentions in this thread. All sourced whiskey (most likely from Dickel) and a cool back story. Any thoughts on it?

OT: What are the best sport logos/uni's in any sport

Post/avatar... I still think the Whalers logo is the greatest logo in any sport and I'm an Islanders fan. I worked with Peter Good on a calendar about 15 years ago. Great guy. I fanboyed all over him about his logo.

    Hotels near Fenway

The Verb is a Rock and Roll themed hotel right behind the first baseline. There is a record player and speaker in every room and about 1,500 albums in the lobby that you can take back to your room. Heated pool too.

    OT: Scotch thread

Just picked up a bottle of Lagavulin Offerman Edition Caribbean Cask 11 YO for $59.99 at Costco. It's not a bad dram at that price.
