Talking to the owner of the Dark Horse Saloon on Ann Ucello st, they open at least an hour and a half before games. Today they opened at 10:30am for the depaul game.
BTW....was downtown last night before the UConn hockey game. The Rockinghorse Saloon on Ann St. is now The Dark Horse Saloon. Still good deal on drinks. No more country music. All classic rock last night.
While we're on the topic of downtown drinking establishments... Arch Street Tavern has been for sale since April 2025.

The Fed was unique. It was owned by a high school friend of mine all though the late 80s and 90s. Before that it was his dad's. His grandfather opened the place in 1934. Great place for after game beers as the traffic cleared out of the downtown streets. It closed in 2020.
Yep... the corner of Allyn and Ann (next to the Russian lady) was Challengers then it became the original Coach's which later moved to Asylum down by the bus/train station.
Corner of Pratt & Trumbull. I remember that location as "the Bar with No Name" back in the 90's.
This would be the third location downtown for a Coach's.
But it looks like this one has no ties to Jim Calhoun...
The PC board is hilarious....they just won at MSG with #4 UConn coming to town and their UConn game thread so far is three pages of bitching that UConn always gets to play @ PC when their students are on break.
