The local support not there, the ladies languishing in neglect. Not in Storrs, Connecticut, the team just eclipsing their previous, consecutive win record. The UCONN team can't wait for the others to catch up, reach that level of brand integrity. Want to witness a dynasty in decline, watch the Tennessee Lady Vols. It's not there. For the Husky fans, they can only bask in the light of this 30- year journey. The streak may be broken this year, and maybe never. That's not the team's concern. Four minutes in the bank, who is up for the next four. As Geno has said, it is remarkable and obviously without precedent, this team, these performances, the shaking of heads, the shrugging of shoulders. What a run for UCONN and the fans that go back farther than memory. They are the feel-good Title IV story. The joy these players display are what women's athletics aspire to achieve, minus the hypocrisy and corruption. More than ever, the NCAA needs UCONN.

LA Tech and Tenn Vols are two examples of what happens to a great dynasty (almost) when the driving force(s) retire, die, or take another job. Apparently it takes a strong personality to continue to win 30 plus games per year (forget the 90 plus win streaks or 11 NC's or upteen Final4's). The article on the Techsters--was interesting--. Tn's unexplained retention of a HC who learned little from Pat or retains methods long forgotten by the winning WBB programs.
But every program falsl from fan adoration--which usually come when a team no longer wins. It shall happen to Uconn---Heresy!
After 6 or 11 more NC's --it should be time for UC to fall. Please note the fall begins when the empty seats at games become more and more--has it started???/Hmmm?

Even before Pat Summit became ill, her team was on the decline. Her coaching style led to the this. It was her inability to adapt and change .

The only disappointment has been, that in recent years, the Uconn home attendance has declined. A few years ago, Geno stated that he would fix this; not so as of today. The only near sellout this year was the Baylor game.
