All 3 phases.
1. Defense cant stop the short throws and quick passes. But this was the first game that we really got taken advantage of.
2. Offense cant catch, missed easy throws to wide open receivers and throws behind guys. Ankle tackles bring guys down every time. OL cant block when the RB doesn't hit the brief holes that do open up at any special pace. At least we did start to move the ball at the end of the game in a slightly respectable manner but I dont know if they started playing a prevent defense which allows for that.
3. Special teams has to get that onside kick when it bounces that far off first contact. Nick Williams needs to stop fair catching every play and try to return a couple more. A blocked punt attempt towards the end of the game would have been nice but since we scored a TD anyways I wont complain too much.
Just a sad game overall. I can still hope we handle our business against the big east and pull out a bowl game somehow, but should I really expect it at this point?
