have not heard much on this, except for the NB mayor alluding to it during the early Hartford getting the stadium and AA affiliate moving. I think one would do well. Easy parking, nice locale,
And sure fans would support. Love to see it and have them outdraw the Htfd experiment

I don't get this at all. New Britain isn't a different market than Hartford. NB took their eyes off the ball and lost the team to a superior stadium. Just like the way NB stole the team from Bristol.

I would bet NB will outdraw Hartford. Parking, easier access, less chance of getting shot.....hope the Lady Mayor shoves it right up Hartford's a...

No comparison Wayquoit. NB took team from scuzzy Muzzy. Terrible place.
This is a socialist experiment in Hartford. Nothing wrong with NB stadium. Relatively new, nice, good reviews.

Indy team, cool new name ( unlike Goats,) We will see

The hatred for the Hartford move is 100% politically driven by people who didn't like seeing the fat chick with egg on her face. If the mayor of NB had a (D) next to her name, nobody would say a damn thing. I find the whole thing kind of amusing. I doubt I'll visit either location more than very occasionally. My ability to take the kids to a weeknight game from Cheshire is slightly above zero, and I'm not wasting a nice summer weekend day.

NB's only way to outdraw will be to beat the Goats on ticket prices, which the indy leagues have to do anyway. Most of them hemorrhage money.

Name calling ad hominum attacks on a Republican mayor by Excalibur. Classy. Does anyone see they do not even mention NB is back in the game? They are so invested in the taxpayer funded inner city boondoggle yard goats

it's easy to do it from Cheshire on a weeknight - leave by 6:15, be in the seats by 7pm easy.

Unless an indy team has ex-MLBers I won't go.

As a Rockies fan (Ravens days) maybe I will do three games next season with the brewery nearby to check out...if it goes up. After that...who knows? From Madison is a trip.

You have no idea how bad Indy League baseball is run if you think NB will outdraw the Yard Goats. Only in CT is this even an issue with some people. It's minor league baseball, jesus. (BTW the Yard Goat brand has been a hit so far)

It's not so much the length of the trip as it is the competing activities.

Yep a rat with an Elvis hairdoo singing into a microphone baseball bat is the very pinnacle of sports logos. Sheesh gives us a break already.

My ? is this: Why would you schedule your Home Opener for April 7th when you knew the construction was going to cut it close to the season from the very beginning? If I were in charge I would have worked with the EL from the start and tell them at least the 3rd week of April. I know that wouldn't have solved much but it would have made things a little better.

The EL Commissioner is pissed to say the least.

What a mess.

That doesn't bode well for the future of the team.. but if you do buy from the box office they're $12! Remember when the YG haters were saying how expensive it was going to be in Hartford and how cheap the Bees were going to be? Yard Goats start at $6.. and you're watching ball in a beautiful venue. Funny how they were dead wrong on that but you won't hear a peep from them about it.

They'll continue hating anything that has to do with Hartford (for whatever reason) forever.

I honestly can't wait until May 31st, I was never big on watching the Rockcats (I stopped going around 08) but this is going to be a great experience.

It's like our own Citi Field, Fenway, Yankee Stadium, etc. It was pricey but what else are you going to do? Wait another half century to do something with that area? The stadium didn't drag the city into debt, the city did that long beforehand. Doesn't mean you put a halt on every single economic development project that arises or else some parts would stay tholes forever. At least now suburbanites can't deny how nice it looks and that's only the beginning, once stores and residential spring up around the park it will be a mini Yawkey/Wrigleyville.

Btw that scoreboard in the OF is the largest scoreboard in MiLB and perhaps on par with a couple MLB teams (but would have to look into it).. there's also no bleachers in the park, all chair backs.

Where do you park and how much? That will be a critical element.

Apparently they said on Facebook they have some good news coming forth regarding parking. Probably some type of partnership with lots for a reduced rate is my guess.
