Maybe she got an advance on her European league salary. I think she only earns, as a first-round choice, $50k for this WNBA season. Not sure what a corvette costs, but it would have to put a big dent in that summer salary. And what would she do with it for the next seven months when she's over in Siberia?

Funny how watching women basketball players skews our perceptions. Mo seems tiny on the court. But if you stand near her, she is really average size for a woman. And, yes, she has several inches on me!
I suspect that a 'vette might be her favorite car, but not what she currently drives! And never mind what she does with the car when overseas - what about her new dog? Mom puppysitting?

A nice used Corvette (1999-2005) can be had around here for $18-24,000. They are far more affordable than most people would think. New ones, however start at around 60k decently equipped, and run past $115k for the big baaad variety.

I waited until I was 60 to get my first one, but wanted one since my semi-delinquent childhood. Now, I'm on Corvette #3. They ARE fun.
