That is pretty wild! Though the list of starting caliber players is much shorter - a bunch of those listed are just 're-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.'

What's going on at USC? They had 4 players defect to other schools. Sadie Edwards may have jumped out of the frying pan into the fire.
USC is a one of the major division 1 schools in this area. I'll keep an eye on that program this season with much interest. I'll be looking to see if Sadie rolled a 7, or snake eyes on her come out roll.

I used to have season seats for USC but got rid of them after one year of the current coach.
I dont like the way the coach handles the players, nor do I like the 4 letter words I have heard from the coach(I sat behind the bench at both home and road games). I was told by some current and former players that the same language is present at practices.
I will attend a few games this year at USC but it will be to support players who are on opposing teams, KLS sister Karlie is one.
Best wishes to all of the girls who have to put up with her ways.

Correct but it wasn't the NCAA site. Anyway I just updated as of October 4, 2015. May be final update for this year.

NSP Hoops- - - My bad! I wouldn't knowingly not quote source! I thought it was the NCAA site! I'm 68 years old and I'm losing my mind! Great job on keeping track of 163 transfers, it must be a record!

One of the players that transferred from USC was one of our local girls from Etiwanda High School, Amy Okonkwo - Freshman Southern California to TCU. I haven't had the opportunity to ask her personally why she left. Obviously she was not happy. You don't leave a program after only one year unless you are totally and completely unhappy, knowing you've got to sit out a year before you can resume playing.

I believe Maryland along with Baylor and North Carolina lost multiple players this year also.

That was a perfectly responsible job while the ship was in port--not so much when the lifeboats were deployed!!

There were many teams that lost multiple players, but Maryland wasn't among them, unless Lexie Brown is so good she counts for more than one.

Here -here, Why did sitting behind the USC bench bother you---Uconn's present president says BASICALLY--that 's how all WBB coaches vent their frustrations--that's why they get the big bucks.

Getting back to BB--how does this years number of top talented players compare with say the last 5 years???

Many time kids are being told that they will make an "immediate impact", then get to the program and see that it's not the case. Back in the day you expected to sit as a freshman and maybe even sophomore unless you was a Blue Chipper, but now many coaches have to make empty promises to kids to get them to commit or lose out. The kids see that if they aren't playing now and with the returning kids and the new incoming kids that it's unlikely to play next year as well, transfer becomes to logical move to not play somewhere else without losing elgibility. There are a lot of press releases where the kid says "it felt like family or it felt right" followed by "I will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact". That second quote is code for "If I'm not getting playing time as a freshman...."

The Imani Wright transfer pains me. She was a starter and I thought she was destined for all Big 12 performances in her Junior and Senior years. I suspect that she and Small figured that with Alexis Jones and the development of Australian Kristy Wallace that their playing time was going to be severely impacted, which is probably spot on.

Think any of those post players will get the same mentality?

Actually, it was my post that you should be quoting:
Ochoopsfan:

I can handle the language, but sitting near me were impressionable young boys and girls. I wonder what their parents thought. Also, the Pac12 network announcers table used to be directly next to the USC bench in Galen Center, USC's home court. Strangely the announcers table was moved to near mid court as too many bleeps by the audio person were needed during the live broadcast. In fact in the coaches first year, 2013/14 the Pac 12 actually announced one of the last home games from the studio in San Francisco instead of live. I wonder why?

Maybe you're thinking of the men team when we had 5 transfers in one season. It turned out to be addition by subtraction as we made the NCAA tournament for the 1st time in five years.
