That we have a true frosh backing up our starting LT, to me speaks volumes as to just how stunted development of the OL became under P's regime.

Have to believe Knappe, Hopkins or Rutherford get moved around before we put a true frosh there.
Hopkins has practiced at both tackle and guard so imho he would be the one moved outside. If anything happens to Levy or Knappe...or anyone else upfront for that matter...it will be another LONG season.

UConn QB Bryant Shirreffs Talks About Being No.1, Depth Chart For Villanova

>>Kicking Roles

So here's how Diaco clarified the Bobby Puyol OR Michael Tarbutt situation at kicker.

"Michael is going to be the starting kickoff specialist," Diaco said. "Bobby will be the next man in that role — and Bobby has improved in that role, too, so that should look better in the event that it is Bobby, but it will be Michael to begin.

"Based on a few different criteria through camp and the evaluation of that competition, the best thing to do to utilize their top traits is that Bobby would kick [point-after attempts] and field goals inside the 22-yard line and Michael will kick everything outside of that — not that Bobby is going to make everything inside the 22 and Michael is going to make everything outside the 22. It's hard to kick the ball through the uprights. It's not easy. PATs are a different story than field goals — and then we're going to go from there as it relates to Bobby. "Bobby, if he's hot and he's popping it through there great, in the event that he's not, then it's like anything else, if you're producing you get more, if you're not you get less."

Sounds like Tarbutt, a freshman who kicked long field goals in Buffalo, N.Y. (Canisius High), and has seen the worst of elements, will have an opportunity to be the No.1 if he's consistent. "Michael is a very, very, good player, a very good and he's got a strong leg. It's just a different … it comes off his foot different and a little bit stronger than Bobby."

That was evidenced in practice Sunday night. Tarbutt made just about everything straight down the middle.<<

Nope... It was in another non university affiliated tweet just as I was starting thread... I only keyed in on 4 days because it fit.

Most likely that means the 22 is the line of scrimmage. 22 + 8 yard snap + 10 end zone = 40 yd. field goal. That makes more sense.

I have to assume this, because the alternative is so ridiculous that it just can't be true.

Lemelle is catching punts. Hope the kid is practiced, Hope the reason he's not on the WR depth chart is because he's been working on catching thousands of punts. We need that yardage. Not whatever he gets out of returns, that's gravy. The yardage on possession change by not letting the ball hit the ground. Need, need it, need it.

Just like playing center field. Eyes on the ball. Sprint to get under it. Set your feet. Catch it.

Drove me bonkers past few seasons how many kicks hit the ground and yards lost. Can't do that when you're offense hasn't proven it can point up points regularly.
