Springer Counting On Fan Votes To Be Final All-Star Chosen

>> George Springer needs your vote.

Springer, the Astros outfielder from New Britain and UConn, was passed over for the All-Star Game, but he is in the "final five," a group of players from which fans will vote for the final player on the roster will be selected.

Springer is hitting .263 with 19 homers and 50 RBI for Houston. He is in his third season, but his first full season without an injury in the first half of the season, and he has responded with a breakout season. However, he did not garner enough votes from fans to be in the starting lineup, and was not among the reserves chosen by fans or manager Ned Yost of the Royals.<<

The best part is that a vote for Springer isn't a "homer" vote. He absolutely deserves to be in the ASG. His numbers are terrific and he plays a gold glove caliber RF.

Should be a close vote. All 10 nominations from the AL and NL are solid. Tough to argue against any of them, to be honest.
