JoePa has OK speed. Especially for a big guy and especially for a guy coming off an ACL tear. Fast enough to steal if he catches the pitcher off guard. If you watch the games in person, it appears that runners tend to have a green light. If they think they have it, they try to take it. The issue here is that, especially with young players, they may tend to be stupidly over aggressive. Meanwhile, Mazzilli comes through with a 2 RBI single.
i dont think the count was full for that ab or the bases wernt full mazz takes 2nd. testani hbp. juiced again here with 2 away. a hit here could break it open. come on PAVONE!!! ?!?! david in to ph why not martin or avery?
I'll tell you what, I like the young Freshmen Conner David. He is hitting real well and comes through with a hit.
lets home dettman and some weekday bp guys can close this easy so we have oberg for a couple 2moro vs bc all this with 2 outs btw...
Well after the single the bases were loaded I believe, so it had to be 1st and 2nd. There were definitely 2 outs. And I'm pretty sure Gametracker told me the count was full but it's been wrong before. For all I know it wasn't even 1st and 2nd. Doesn't matter now of course.
I guess I spoke to soon, what an inning for them, 9 runs. I like the future of our catcher position between DeBellis and David. Both look to be solid hitters.
I wonder if they'll throw Jolin to finish the game or if they'll let some other guys pick up the last couple of innings. I would think they'll try to give Feehan and Oberg the day off so they can be fully rested for BC
Tabakman in relief. I almost would have expected him to start today. I guess Dettmann has replaced him as the 4th or 5th starter?
Tabakman gets out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 8th to preserve a 12-4 lead. 3 outs away from moving on to BC
RsFr LHP David Mahoney on the mound in the 9th for his first collegiate appearance. Good spot to get his feet wet.
