247... now @ 110. The tweet above was last Friday.

Nothing to jump for joy over by any means.

I was looking at Temple and FAU on 247. Hopefully we can poach Holmes and Blackshear from FAU and Temple respectively and keep DeGroot who is also looking at FAU.

these 3 would give us a boost, I just hope it translates on the gridiron.

Absolutely. But when look at the footage from these three, it looks to be at another level vs others we are seriously pursuing. Not a huge step, but a discernible step 1/2 step per se.

The more HUDL I watch, the more I realize there are a zillion 2 star kids that sit somewhere on the G5/sub G5 border. Some of these kids will continue to grow physically or will refine their craft, or some combination to become impact players on par with most three star kids. And sometimes they even turn into draft picks, something we obviously know alot about at UConn. The obvious challenge is figuring out who is that diamond in the rough, that coachable, moldable, hungry kid ready with the right tutelage to really further their game.

Just as there are 1/2 a zillion 2* kids that sit on the P5/G5 border. A subjective .005 on these sites by recruiting analysts can make a big difference in perception/stars.

Exactly. There are a lot of kids out there. Its all about finding them. If you could siphon off the 3 of the top 5 kids to land at every colonial athletic conference school that was a two star prospect you'd have a whale of a team.

Circling back to our recent rash of offers, I do think Homles, DeGroot and Blackshear display more in their game at least as one can measure in video alone. I'll throw Maize in there too. Where video is limited is that it doesn't give any indication on work ethic, heart, determination, academic drive and character.

Maybe, but Alabama has the top ranked class the last 5 years and they have been somewhat successful at football

UConn has had awful classes for 5+ years rankings wise and the program is a joke with 1 terrible bowl appearance

We should be more like Alabama. Great insight. Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?

could we at least get to Troy's level?

You posted in another thread that you don't think we are currently beating CCSU. It's quite clear that you don't follow the program's recruiting, so I see no reason to engage with you.

I don't understand why they aren't tapping the JUCO route for a couple offensive linemen. If your looking for the best willing to play for UConn why not look under that rock more often. Seems like there should be a couple every year that could make the grades and they've got at least one more year experience on any high school kid and at a higher level of ball playing.

Or 5th year transfers. We have a young QB, 2 senior RBs, 2 Sr TEs, 3rd year WRs, some influx of speed (Vickers, Skanes) and we some solid OL play we could return to a bowl. Instead, we are offering kids who have offers from CCSU. I firmly believe the school is either not aligned across all groups (from Suzie on down) as to what we need to do to compete at a high level and that prevents us from going the JUCO route, or we are completely aligned and we are going to spend our resources on RKGs in a developmental program, wins be damned.

More like geniuses like you who claim rankings don't matter

Especially in Hoops when you're not even ranked top 150

I can see you ventured off the Cesspool and the hoops board @JSM1970...by the way I'm still waiting for your response in the Cesspool thread you tool!

Playing with the 247 class ranking calculator, looks like we will slide into the top 100 if a few more recruits that look like real possibilities land here (DeVera - who has a schedule visit, Gamble who is also is set to visit, and Chris Chukwuneke is listed as warm/lean).

I know...classing rankings - blah blah blah.

Class rankings matter more than individual players

UConn's rankings have been terrible for 5+ years and the team has been too whereas Alabama has had the #1 ranking for like 5 years and they play for a Championship almost every year

Response to what?
I tagged you in a response to your post about firefighter's still waiting for your answer. I even included some pictures to reinforce my comment.

I hate looking at recruiting rankings, especially for football where the science is so very inexact. That said....man these last 3 years are ugly.
