And saw what she needs to do to get to that next level. She is clearly super athletic from what I've seen on youtube, and can get to the basket, but isn't quite at the level of the other three yet...(yet!)
One of the links says that Moriah was the best 'lockdown' perimeter defender on the team.....just might get her [very] early playing time.
I think Moriah's defense is something like Lorin's--great foot speed, quick hands, constantly harassing. People do not want to play against her.
We should always be cautious about defensive expectations. Many folks were talking about BB being likely to garner significant time because she was great defender. It turned out to be an area where she struggled at times last year.
Are you getting defensive? You're right--Brianna's defensive posture and quickness are great, but she let the offensive player get by her too readily.
From the videos I have seen of Jefferson (the two all star games and some others) you described her game perfectly with your Banks comment. The coaching staff will work on that with her, but she did struggle keeping players in front of her.
It's logical that these kids have trouble staying in front of the competition defensively as they step up in competition. They have to make adjustments at every level as they move up.
Has anybody pointed out that 3 Notre Dame commits made the two teams and Notre Dame just happened to have 2 votes on the committee- Asst. Coach Beth Cunningham and former NDer Coquese Washington?
Did they both actually have votes? Cunningham was "players representative" or something like that so she may not have had a vote.
