The fact that it took Diaco buying it himself to make this happen is a tribute to how tone deaf they are in the offices sometimes. Trophy with BC? Nope. Trophy with Syracuse? Nope. Trophy with Rutgers? Nope. LETS HAVE ONE WITH CENTRAL FLORIDA!!!!

I'm not sure what's worse, in all honesty...

1) Being a lame enough football program to not have a trophy game at all
2) Being a non-directional-florida-school lame enough to have a trophy game with UCF.

I want a trophy because i want a regular opponent worthy of a rivalry. There are a few out there. UCF aint one of em.

I saw it on Twitter before I saw it here.

I said oh USF - they have played some crazy games... I don't feel like looking but since 1999 they have probably played USF more often than anyone.

Then I clicked on the link and saw UCF and was instantly confused.

This is actually kinda awesome. UCF is probably year in and year out the favorite in the East division going forward and it'll give the players a little something to get jazzed up for. I wouldn't mind seeing UMass as a trophy game either to be honest, play it on Thanksgiving weekend every year.

I'm giving Diaco more credit than most. If you look closely, you can see that the UCF placard can be slid out from behind the plastic. So, when we get a real rivalry, you pull out UCF, put the rival's logo in, and poof, there's your clock, board and trophy.

Am I the only one who isn't really bothered by this? As long as Diaco paid for it out of pocket and didn't waste AD money, who gives a what he does?

If you're upset about this, you probably think that those bucket hats caused the team go to 2-10 last year.
