Why in God's name did you feel like recommending a restaurant you hadn't been to in 40 years?
[shrugs] Yeah, I've got nothing....

In the Phoenix area now and yet again I’m disappointed with most of the area’s Mexican cuisine.

We had lunch today at the very hyped Taco Guild in Phoenix, but was very disappointed. Overpriced tacos (1 street sized taco clocked in between $6-$8, cocktails were $14) that tasted like they were designed more for a midwest palate than anything remotely Mexican or even Tex Mex. Good masa, though.

Ive been here for four separate trips, and so far the only tacos I’ve truly loved are from Maskadores, right down the street from my in-laws in Fountain Hills. A Mexican owned and run restaurant, so very real real while still providing “safer” options for the snowbirds and retirees.

Yep. I believe it is august west's favorite restaurant.
Ya, but doesn't August West like Arby's too? What does that tell you about that resturant?

Just kidding.:p

Just tried Tacos Los Gordos on Orange Street in New Haven for the first time. Excellent. Better and more authentic than Camacho, Te Amo or Geronimo imo, and way better prices/value. Takeout only at the moment though.
