"There has been a lot of speculation surrounding our program in recent weeks and that’s all that it is - speculation"

Um, Sylvia, it's not speculation that all your best players are transferring -- that's a fact. Triad, you must be just about beside yourself with schadenfreude.

Not in the least....... I feel for our fellow ACC member institution

6'3" does that make her a "big". A Kiah replacement with more scoring? What do you think?

FRESHMAN SEASON 2013-14Strong, athletic post player that has the ability to dominate the paint area at both ends of the floor • Appeared in all 37 games and made 34 starts • Named a Full Court Freshman All-America honorable mention • Averaged 10.7 points and a team-leading 8.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game • Selected ACC Rookie of the Week on Nov. 25 after averaging 17.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in two victories • Shot a perfect 10-for-10 to post a 20-point, 13-rebound and five-block performance against Coastal Carolina on Nov. 21 • Ranked second in the ACC and 26th nationally in blocks • Recorded 12 double-doubles on the year, the fifth most in the ACC • Also ranked fifth in rebounding and ninth in field goal percentage (52.3%) • Her 90 blocks was the fifth most in a single season at UNC, while her 304 rebounds was the ninth most in school history • Both figures are freshman school records • Had 21 double-figure scoring games, 14 double-digit rebound totals and led the team in rebounding 19 times • Scored a season-high 24 points and had 12 rebounds against Illinois on Nov. 30 in Cancun • Had 20 points and 12 boards in the win over #10 South Carolina on Dec. 18 in Myrtle Beach • Put together 12 points and 11 rebounds in the win over #7 Duke on March 2 • Had 13 points and nine boards in the win over No. 1 seed South Carolina in the NCAA Tournament on March 30.

I wonder if she will follow the rest of her team to SC. Good luck Stephanie!

I thought about that but SC has so much size already I'm not sure. I was thinking maybe B1G since she is from Indiana. Maybe Ohio State!?

I'd look for her to land at Tennessee. She was high on UT during the recruitment process and she'd fit in perfectly with Graves graduating. A front court of her, Russell and DeShields could be the nation's best in 2016-17.

"At any rate, UNC women's basketball has entered an anxious twilight period before darkness falls. It is a form of punishment before the punishment. Whatever sanctions the program receives will likely be debilitating. High levels of attrition and a recruiting drought prior to that will on exacerbate the impact of those sanctions. In short, UNC women's basketball is about to take a very difficult and long walk through the wilderness."

Don't discount that she and Mercedes are incredibly close. She originally wanted to play with her. She's also close with Diamond and the prospect of playing with both of them for two years on a championship-contending team that has a need at her position probably looks pretty good.

Just as I predicted hours BEFORE Mavunga's announcement...

Huskies Rule, Today at 1:20 PM Report

"While Lexie Brown, Kaela Davis and Allisha Gray are all excellent players, I still think the kid with the potential to have the greatest impact as a transfer (if she, too, decides to move on) will be Stephanie Mavunga (14 ppg, 10 rpg, 3 blocks per). And with teammates Washington, Gray (and Deshields) abandoning the sinking UNC shipwreck, I don't think Stephanie's departure will be far behind. Mavunga is a beast inside with a great motor, plays solid defense, scores enough and is a team-first player. If Geno isn't optimistic about signing Cox or McCoy, I would absolutely love to see him go after Mavunga."

Geno- let's get the last and best piece of the UNC carcass. [It's really hard not to smile at UNC-cheaters' misfortune]

Off the topic of Mavunga but didn't Vandy guard Paris Kea transfer in to UNC? I wonder what she is thinking about all this?

Well I'll discount it....just got wind Gray was blocked from talking to UT so I'm only assuming, but I figure it'll be the same for Mavunga.

Maria C. no doubt. I would like confirmation from another source.
