Kerry Kittles "One Sock" sighting!

Ray was a strong finisher and could really body it up inside ... not to mention he was a power dunker. Amazing how perceptions change with age and skillets but he was so much more than a 3-point specialist.

Also love seeing Ollie push the pace.

At about the 19:25 mark, is the first replay I've seen in 21+ years of a move culminating in a dunk, that has lived vividly in my memory ever since. Maybe the best dunk in heavy traffic in the half court set I have ever seen by a Husky.

Especially that uniform. Easily the best we've ever had.
Yes sir, I bought that Ray Allen uniform when I was 9 years old, growing up in New York that wasn't so common, but they were selling it in the Smithaven Mall in one of the sneaker stores, begged my parents to buy it for me and sure enough I got it, can't tell you how many times I wore it while playing basketball in the backyard trying to be like Ray....

Ray had such a sweet shot but could also slash with the best of them.
He also was a great offensive rebounder.
Did anyone catch Donny Marshall in Street cloths probably serving a suspension .
Donny was s bad boy. ( in s good way)
For you young guys who are lamenting the Hamilton loss ,how do you think we felt when Ray ,Rip ,Caron,or even Rudy left early.

Only difference was we expected them to leave because their games were ready and you felt good for them to move on to the next level. DHam not so much.

I mean DHAM is not really comparable to those guys mention.....

Ray, RIP, and Caron are a few of the greatest huskies of all time, DHAM is no where close to that discussion and like Mauconnfan said those guys made smart decisions to leave early, DHAM not so much in my view, I guess we will see if it was in the near future.

You know what else, besides Rays obvious greatness, sticks out in this highlight video is how great it was for him to have Doron and KO on that team. So many great passing sequences in that video in which they both suck the defense in and away from Ray and then kick back, as well as the long passes. That's as beautiful as watching Ray.

I know that Curry is the greatest shooter of all time....

But...

Ray's jump shot and release is to me the prettiest jumper I've ever seen, just the form and everything, so smooth, so silky.

Looking forward (hopefully) to some of that this year - Jalen and Alterique sucking defenses away and opening it up for Rodney et al.

But yes, it was truly a joy to watch Doron and KO.

Love Mike Gorman and Ron Perry.

Also love, "GEORGE BLANEY needs a timeout".;)

I had been a UConn fan for about five years, and a friend of mine and myself went to the '93-'94 Blue-White scrimmage. We saw this freshman dunking over everyone in the warmups prior to the scrimmage. His name was Ray Allen.

I became as big a Ray Allen fan as a UConn fan for the next three years.;)

When Ray started to get minutes, you could just tell right away that he was something special.
