When you can win 90+ games in a row...............twice, and it not be a BIG deal the second time, shows us where Geno's priorities are.
A 90 game win streak is hallowed ground in any sport. 99.9% of all sports teams or franchises will NEVER come close to that number.

To do it twice, is a record that will no doubt NEVER be broken. Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hitting streak in major league baseball (1941), will be broken before this one will, and it has stood TALL for 75 years. I think it's safe to say, you can put these two 90 + game win streaks on the Mount Rushmore of sports records that will NEVER be broken.........at least in our lifetimes. :)

Cruising At 90, UConn Set To Take It Up A Notch At SMU, Then Keep Going

Not too noteworthy.

"As UConn bids for a record 91st consecutive win Saturday at SMU, there is unlikely to be a saturation of media deep in the heart of Texas. This streak is garnering attention, but it has a decidedly different feel."

Do your REALLY think "saturation of media"? It's only a tiny school, in cow country--back hills, Connecticut. A tiny school in a tiny state--
Add to that--it's ONLY GIRL's--not REAL basketball--Men's!!

SMU shall energized if the Media and the crowds develop. Their coach, if I recall, to avoid being wiped out by 150--in the past, played the clock to the end on every play--if he does that, then my 107 points of Uconn and 75 mov runs through a tube on the way down the tubes.

A choice comment from Geno about Molly, responding to a question about whether she can be the one who steps up during Crystal's temporary absence:

"She makes just enough shots to make you think she can help you and she makes just enough plays," Auriemma said. "Then she's 100 miles per hour and she completely self destructs when she's out there. Somewhere, we've got to find that middle ground so she can make a little bit of an impact, however many minutes, and not get into that self destruct mode where she's struggling to get anything done."

His next quoted comment, about the team generally, was equally interesting in comparison to that one:

"From now until the end of March, they're not getting any bigger, they're not getting any quicker, they're not getting any faster, they're not getting any stronger," Auriemma said. "The only thing they can get is a little bit smarter. So if they can get a little bit smarter and start to see things a little bit quicker and start to react to things a little bit quicker, that will give them more confidence and then they'll get better."

I'm starting to understand why freshman guards have a tough time getting onto Geno's trust list: they have to see things quickly and react to things quickly, but not go 100 mph and self-destruct. Even someone with offers from Ivy League schools might have trouble squaring that circle.
