An article about it:
http://www.examiner.com/article/hartford-whalers-fans-move-toward-season-ticket-drive

Please sign the petition and help spread it around. I don't use FB or twitter so I hope everyone can send to friends, family, colleagues, etc

I have a lot of respect for the whaler guys. They put on a great event in Bristol. I was there and had a blast.
I guess even the NHL noticed according to the above article....
http://www.wfsb.com/story/29568459/hartford-whalers-appreciation-night-held-in-bristol.

Please sign also for the CT Hartford Whaler license plate petition as well:
https://www.change.org/p/matthew-ri...nity-license-plates-for-connecticut-residents

Also, contact your local leglislators. We need local voter public support for the renovations of the XLC. I already have about the plate and NHL return, but more need to write emails. They do respond!
Even if out of session, we need to bother them. Emails are probably more influential than these petitions, but both don't hurt. We're at critical mass for an NHL team. 3 possible relocations in the near future.

UCONN and CT needs a new civic center. Please support the renovations anyway you can.
Thanks.

Typical CT negativity. If you don't want the whalers back, fine. If you're a fan of ANY UCONN athletics, you should support the civic center renovations.

It's not a question of whether or not people want the Whalers back, it just is not a realistic proposition.

You could build another MSG, a Boston Garden, or a Montreal Forum. The NHL is not coming back.

How is it not realistic?
A local whaler TV is worth more in TV RS $ than Carolina/Florida/Arizona.
PK even said so.
You would have potentially NESN+, CSNE, SNY, YES, MSG bidding for TV.
Less travel for all EC teams.
More corporate support than most current NHL teams. Business deals @ sporting events is massive and more popular now than ever.
The rise of UCONN plus all the championships from NY, NE teams since 97.
We would outdraw CAR/ARI/FLA
Bruins vs Whalers would defentily be a national NBC game. How many does those 3 teams have? NYR vs HFD, QBC vs HFD would def be NBCSN games.
The whalers have worldwide appeal. Maybe more fandom than people actually in CT, but that's good. I'm sure every state except the relocated locale would be very happy or indifferent of the whale return. 39/50 states in yard goat sales = naitional demand for the royal blue and Kelly green.
After Quebec, what is the next east coast relocation option?
Hartford? Hamilton?

Especially to a renovated Civic Center.

The XL Center after the retrofit will be a better building than the MTS Centre and most importantly it will be able to meet the necessary revenue thresholds needed to operate an NHL franchise. Everything will be brand new outside of the original foundation.

How much improvement to the current, # 2 pencil-width lobby areas!

http://www.courant.com/real-estate/hc-pdf-hartford-stadium-study-20150219-htmlstory.html

Download the PDF. Plans for 2 wide concourses on 2 different levels to spread out fans. Plus more bathrooms, concessions, incorporates new fan bar etc. too many bells and whistles to list. It needs to be done.

Please support it if you want UCONN in a P5. NHL or not, this is about UCONN and renovating infrastructure that is truly the nucleus/heart of downtown hartford.

Reconstruction of the old Adams Division would be too much positive karma for universe to endure.

A meteor would have to strike mountain side convent roll down the hill crush three unsuspecting cows before crashing into a power substation setting off a fire that engulfs the indigenous population in order to balance it out.
