Play hasn't started yet as it is in California but this is the first major of the year...very
comparable to the men's Masters in that respect and in that it is always on the same course.

Asian invasion players....slumping Yani Tseng among them
Grizzled American vet Lexi Thompson....all of 18 years of age....won the Junior Girls at 13 in Hartford in 2008...already won twice on the tour in her short career out there.
Michelle Wie....terribly mediocre or worse the last 2 years plus....still only 23.
