Felt the first of my life here in the Boston area. It was a 4.5 magnitude from southern Maine.

Odd experience! Started to feel my chair shaking a bit and then heard some rattling from pre-HD TV -- at 200 lbs it has never ever rattled, so I knew something was up.

I felt it too in Ellington at 7:13 PM and knew what it was right away - even before it made the news. My first in over 50 years, and I hope it's the last. I don't know how people on the West Coast do it.

Any readers from Portland, Maine? I hope everyone is OK up there.

in Ansonia, felt a slight rocking of the desk, thought maybe i was bumping it, tried a test bump and it didn't produce the same jolt, suspected it then that it was a quake, especially since I had also had a similar experience with the VA quake.

Just read this and checked in with the Portsmouth Herald (Seacoast Online). Epicenter was at Hollis Center, Me, about 20 miles west of Biddeford. Officially rated at 4.6.

I have dim memories of the last one of 5.5 magnitude about 35 miles north of me at Kittery centered at Ossipee Lake when I was a little tyke.

Sitting in kitchen, wife comes running in from living room, "did you feel that"? Nope, not a thing. One room apart, nothing. Very weird.

Man, hurricane, floods, tornado, freak Oct snowstorm, now an earthquake. What next? Locusts?

Must be Zumba related.

Probably. Kennebunk is not very far from Hollis Center. Might have been about 100 "johns" shaking in their boots. More aftershocks are expected.
