Still a slight chance the Mavs swoop in at the last minute, but it sounds like a done deal. And they're still in pretty good shape to bring back one (or both) or Ray and Bass.

So, um, does JaYnYcE still think the Knicks are gonna cake walk past the Celtics?

Looks like there might be a really good team in New York...but it ain't gonna be the Knicks.

I like the Terry deal. He's definitely not a pure PG, but he can play next to either Rondo or Bradley. We'll see what happens with Ray. Bradley is apparently out till December.

Just yesterday Ainge said that bringing back Ray Allen was their #1 priority. Even if Bradley's out until December and even if Terry/Bradley could backup Rondo at the 1, I still don't see how there's enough minutes to go around between the three of them at shooting guard.

The Celtics have made it clear that they intend to sign both Ray and Terry, and they have the money to do so. But if I had to guess right now, I'd say he ends up elsewhere.

Memphis/Clippers can offer him equal money and the chance to start, while Miami can offer him more PT and a better chance to win a title. I still think the Celts are in the hunt, but Terry does probably hurt their chances a bit.

Yeah, this ensures that Ray's gone. It's also bizarre that the Mavs are basically giving Terry up. Maybe they have something brewing with D-Will/Howard.

Maybe D-Will dont' see what the Mavs have that would entice Orlando to trade Howard to them. The best player the Mavs can offer is Roddrigue Beaubois who certainly has some potential but it makes the Nets offer look a lot better even though realistically it's not that enticing either. Funny that the two teams Howard wants to go to have essentially nothing that the Magic want at this point.

Good for the celts. I live close to LA and would like to see him end up with the clippers. not that i think they are going to win it all any time soon. i just couldn't stomach him in Miami. I'd never root for them, but obviously hope he'd have a great end to his career there...

The Nets now have $190M committed to Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. That's an "OMG, what have we done?!" moment waiting to happen.

Terry is a great move for the Celtics - I don't think it moves them much closer to the Heat, but it's a good move.

Early fav for exec of the year is Danny Ferry - he moved an assload of long money off his books.

Miscalculating fool of the year award - Dwight Howard. God, he's just hammer-stupid.

Unlike the drafting they did, I think Danny Ainge knocked this out of the park. Love this move and Terry is a proven winner.

It was brilliant. The Celts needed another 3 point expert and a back up PG who could be a combo guard if necessary. A perfect fit.

Terry, Ray, and Pierce will be in the game when Boston wants to push the ball and shoot in transition and score quickly. Green is better inside. As is Rondo.
Bass and Garnett have good range for big men.

Not worried about Boston. If anything, the Nets might end up being the better team in the Atlantic division if they keep adding key players. If NY adds Nash and Camby we'll be a strong contender to win the conference next year.

So again, I'm not worried about Boston :)

Spoken like a true Skip Bayless fan.

It's gonna be funny when the Knicks end up with a washed-up JKidd or overrated and overpaid Lin as their PG.

It'll be even funnier when NY wins the series against Boston with an overrated PG in Lin.

Even though the Celtics are saying they want Ray I think that's just PR cuz Ray is such a popular player. I think coming off the bench AND not being a featured scorer isn't what Ray wants despite likely desire to stay in northeast.

I'd guess that Ray wouldn't take 1/2 as much money to play for the Heat, but I wouldn't be shocked if he did. Chicago makes more sense, I think he's nuts if he goes to Memphis - such a small town and getting a championship there a massive long shot.

As others have said there are not enough backcourt minutes for Rondo, Bradley, Terry and Ray. Though I love Ray, Terry is better at creating his own shot at this point and therefore more useful running with a 2nd unit.
