I'm like halfway through the 2nd season...very good show. One of the few that keeps getting better (so far)
Just wait...seasons 3 and 4 are a lot better than 1 and 2. Breaking Bad is the best show on TV right now, and honestly might be the best show I've ever seen.
Ding ............. Ding ............... ding ding ding You'll understand when you see later episodes! Can't wait for the new season in a couple of weeks!
I'm hooked on Sons of Anarchy and Mad Men currently, which have already ended for the season. How does this show rank compared to those two? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Season 1 is probably my least favorite even though I still think its great. Its more of a dark comedy/drama while the later seasons are more like brilliantly written thrillers IMO. It is my favorite show on by far and I really believe it is getting better every season.
I've been watching SoA too. Just finished the 3rd season. Breaking Bad is a much different show and might take a couple episodes to get into since there's not the same kind of intense action as in a lot of the SoA episodes. However, I'm already starting to like it better
It took me a while to get through the first season and a half of BrBa. After that point, though, I flew through the rest of the episodes in like a week and a half. Seriously one of the best shows out right now.
Mad Men is my favorite show currently on television. I understand why some people can think Breaking Bad is better, and I can appreciate what they are doing, but I can not embrace it and just enjoy it as much as I can with Mad Men. Sorry, meth bothers me and the two leads bother me, and this is coming from someone who thinks The Wire is the greatest thing ever created. That said, there is no decrease in quality between any of the seasons, it operates at a high level constantly and I can not wait for it to get back on the air.
Mad Men & Breaking Bad are on the same level to me, SOA isn't on there level imo due to the writing, the guy who plays Jax being a mediocre actor, and the "the outta here" moments since Season 2.
I agree with you somewhat (I enjoy both leads though maybe Cranston gets too much credit, Paul perfect for his role) and I like Mad Men better but mostly because I think its more interesting to me because I can relate to and think about the character's inner motivations and psyches. BBad has a different but similar interest but not in a relatable way and is more pure fantasy type watching. The only episode that really disturbed me was when Aaron Paul's character got stuck at the house of a meth couple and discovered the totally neglected 6yr-ish old child. Otherwise I'm able to separate the characters from the real world and appreciate the storytelling and amazingly well thought out aspects of the show. I think each season gets better and if the next is better than the last holy crap we are in for a roller coaster ride this summer and its likely to get very dark.
I just put my girl on to Sopranos (which I think is the best show ever created) so we've been watching that for the past few weeks. We were going to start watching the Wire afterwards since neither of us have seen it and everyone I talk to raves about it. But if you guys are serious about Breaking Bad then I might just have to put The Wire to the side for the moment and catch up on BB before the new season starts. Sidenote: I was reading on IMDB that a few writers from the Sopranos went on to create their own show after it ended: Matt Weiner (Mad Men), Terrance Winter (Boardwalk Empire), Matthew Weiner, Robin Green (Blue Bloods). And these are the writers that worked under the head writer David Chase. So many great writers for one show, I would have loved to be in the room when they were coming up with ideas for each episode.
For people like me who haven't yet seen the show please add SPOILER before you type so that I can avoid reading any further.
