Below is a link to an interview with Noah Vonleh done by the Eagle Tribune, his local paper. The interviewer is their lead high school reporter and knows Noah very well. Noah seems pretty grounded and the following quote struck me... "I want to go to a school that will prepare me for the next level." He also said he will listen to any school who is interested in recruiting him. I don't know how active UConn has been with him but the one thing that I love about this kid is how important basketball is to him. (In the background is Scott Hazelton's camp with player such as Carson Derosiers, Evan Smotrycz, and others...)
Think the commitment of Phil Nolan and Kentan Facey will affect the recruitment of Noah Vonleh and Chris McCullough ?
I think it depends on how good Noah and Chris think they are. If they feel they are better, or will be better, than Phil or Kentan, then no I'd say it won't affect them. Of course there could be other factors. "You don't want to go to UCONN because JC is retiring soon, or there will be too much competition for your spot. Come here and play right away and be our #1 option"... blah blah...
Two top 100, 150ish players are not going to scare away top 15 players, unless one of them just kills it out of the gate, Cleveland Melvin style.
I don't know where we are with Dominic Woodson or Jahlil Okafor but w/ 1 of them and either Vonleh or McCullough would make for a great start for the coach-in-waiting which could very well be Kevin Ollie.
