Maybe it was overshadowed by KML's injury status or maybe I just missed it, BUT what did produce the surgery? Was her knee getting progressively more touchy and it was felt that an exploratory was needed? I know that a knee can contain floaters or a small tear and the best MRI in the world will not necessarily show anything. Watching her in her last game - Stanford - she was moving fine, so this was a decision about long term.

I don't believe it was exploratory - i believe they were clearing out residue that was causing swelling and pain.

Sounded like she had some loose bits floating around in there.

She had a slight cartilage tear that hadn't bothered her all summer but started to during the preseason games where it was sore and sometimes swollen before or after games - she said she didn't feel it and it didn't affect her during the games. The medical staff just figured it would be better to get it cleaned up now than wait.
