Although ND has more than double the % of female students in varsity sports, and also did better than UCONN on the student surveys on athletics, UCONN's overwhelming margin women's sports championships got them their #1 score

Until 1972 ND was all male. That's why today's ND football players are kinder and gentler.:D

The Flopping Irish can make this claim - if not for them, UConn could be pursuing its EIGHTH consecutive NC.

This post made me ask myself, has being in a minor league made us very insecure?

p.s. If the subject were just WCBB, no sane sports fan would need a survey/study or would even have to discuss it.

p.p.s. Apres Geno/CD le deluge.

B.S. They have about a dozen WBB players and so does UCONN. They have a MUCH stronger alumni org to donate and help recruit.
Just as with Dookies, ND grads think they are special - I admit, they are the best baristas Starbucks has.

UConn is the only school even won both male and female NCAA basketball championships.
Just this, no one can compete with UConn...............

I assume you mean in the same year (twice!)
North Carolina, Maryland, and Stanford have all won men's and women's NCAA BB championships, never in the same year however.

Ummm, hello McFly. It's a percentage of students (female) who are involved in athletics. So yes having the same number of athletes, but a different number of students, makes a difference. It's math.
