Nice recognition for the Golden Girl!
I've noticed since the last few WNBA games before the break Maya has seemingly picked up just a little bit extra confidence that she has carried with her through the Olympics and now into the second half of the WNBA season. She never lacked for confidence, but there has been a little something extra. Part of it in my opinion is that with the Lynx injuries she was able to play power forward and get to do the things she is best at, and then was able to continue playing that position in the Olympics in her college offense until getting moved to the starting lineup. Up until that point the Lynx have not put Maya in a position to do the things she is best at for whatever reason. I don't think the casual observer really understands how much Maya has been sacrificing for the Lynx because it is somewhat hidden by Maya still been taking plenty of shots.
Maya had a splendid game last night: 22 points, 10 Rebs, 6 asts, 4 steals and 1 TO.
