This is a comedy about a really acerbic recovering alcoholic who's involved in helping other substance abusers.
I'd never heard of it. Apparently it was on a channel called "Audience" that was only available on DirectTV, but now Amazon has it. It's produced by Peter Farrally and his brother co-writes some episodes. As with their movies, they make excellent use of differently abled folks for hysterical comic effect. Stars Ron Livingston in a role that's perfect for him, as a former well-known music critic and author. who almost killed his ex in a drunk driving incident.
The first couple of episodes are laugh out loud funny as Livingston takes being an to new levels. As the characters develop, there are other storylines interwoven that aren't as cheery, but the jokes still hit home. There are situations reminiscent of Curb Your Enthusiasm, as with the ad copywriter and his sponsor. Also, Livingston's dad is a scream.
Recommended.
