Team USA up by almost 30+ late in the 4th quarter. Great numbers for Charles, Bird, Taurasi, Ogwumike, McCaughtry and Stewie. Nneka with a double double. Everyone contributed in the scoring column except for Dupree (started by played 5 minutes) and Lavender (did not start and played 9 minutes - finishing the game out over Dupree).

If I had to guess, with Griner on the team, either Lavender or Dupree goes home, and at this point I have no idea which one it will be. Frankly I'd send Dupree and keep Lavender - just for the size difference, but with Charles, Griner, Stewie and Ogwuimke, they might not "need" Lavender's slightly larger size...

Then again, based on the time on the floor, maybe they liked what they saw from Jantel better...

As a sidenote observation - someone, or maybe more than one, said that Stewie would be better off at UCONN practicing with her teammates etc etc. than getting "limited" minutes off the bench. Um... emphatic NO. Not only has she been productive against the best in the world, but she also gets to practice with/against team USA - the elite best in the world. The travel experience alone would be worth it, but add in the aforementioned additional benefits and it's a no-brainer - yes she belongs on the team and yes she should be there, NOT at UCONN...

Other sidenote - I think the defense was pretty good all game. Gave up 23 in the first half, 18 in the 2nd. But they did not find offensive flow (at least per the "numbers") till the 2nd half. Will be curious to see if that is Geno's assessment...

Another rough shooting day for Maya and DT. Maybe they are still feeling the effects from playing so deep into the WNBA season. I am guessing that they are playing on tired legs.

They have not yet turned the bright lights on.

missed the game again, but this time the US won so my missing the game is not a jinx. Thanks eric for the summary, I appreciate it. I am going to take a look at the box score.

I got some serious spyware, too. But it's my own stupid fault!

yeah, and all this anger about the situation is firmly directed at myself. I am pretty unhappy. I will get over it, but I missed important things....like possible job interviews...games..you know...stuff

Poor showing for O. Sims, based on the game stats. only 11:43 min playing time, 1 for 4 shooting ( 0 for 3 from 3 pt) for 2 points, with 2 turnovers to 1 assist. A -2 rating, don't know what that is, but -2 can't be good....

Thank you for pointing out the only poor news in their Box Score.
Did you notice Maya had 6 rebounds, 3 blocked shots & a steal? How about DT, you didn't mention hitting 2 three pointers, 3 steals & only 1 t.o. in 26+ minutes. Maybe throw in Tina going 7-12 from the field and leading the team in scoring w/ 16 pts...? Or even mention Sue shooting 3-3 from the floor, grabbing 6 rebounds and dealing 4 assists ?
I guess there's no need to brag too much on Stewie hitting 3 baskets including a 3, blocking 3 more shots, 4 rebounds & 2 assists. By the way, all 4 threes were made by UConn and USA won the battle in the paint 38-34.....;)

Always nice to get the whole story.....:)

Totally agree - plus she's getting coaching from her own college coach, which her UCONN teammates are NOT getting right now.

JR; took your good advice and downloaded BufferZone. Seems like a helluva good idea. Thanks. Incidentally, isn't there some way that one of you knowledgable types can take over RadyLady's computer and clean it up? The MalwareBytes seems to have taken care of my problem (which got right by my Avast, incidenally) but seems not to have taken care of hers. Jus wondrin.

While I have Norton 360, I also "apply" MalwareBytes from time-to-time.
It's funny (and a little frustrating) that Norton misses "stuff" that MalwareBytes can find and fix. That said, I've also used HitmanPro to dispose of a couple persistent PUPS (I think they're called Pups - real PITAs.)

Right on, Eric and Diego :)) Stewie absolutely belongs on this national team and she is showing it with her all-around excellent game(s), contributing in every aspect. Also, I never thought I would agree with you on perhaps sending Candice Dupree home for the final cut, but the fact that she started but played only 5:28 against the Czechs suggests something is amiss- maybe she is hurt, maybe exhausted from the WNBA playoffs, I dunno. But getting 3 minutes less playing time than anyone, at the very moment the starters need to work together and strengthen their cohesion, is a big red flag. I'm guessing Candice is going home.

What I picked up the other day from the supposed streaming site was something called imminent. Not only did Avast miss it, so did HitmanPro, which is what led me to do the on line research that resulted in my downloading and using MalwareBytes. Both Avast and Hitman have served me very well in the past, and I have kept them updated, but this one got by them.

That's ugly! That won't get her much playing time.

I complemented both Charles and Stewart in other posts, which I am not sure you saw. :) Also, my first post in this thread was that Sue came out strong. Your post makes it sound as if I gave no credit to UCONN players, which I obviously did.

I likewise am having pop up issues...it is extremely annoying. I had Apple techs work on it and they were unable to stop the pop-ups. I have another friend of mine who is a net-work specialist coming over my house tomorrow to try and help me get rid of them...they pop up every time I open a new thread...it is annoying beyond acceptable. The pop-ups come even when I post to a thread. Mac Cleaner, Bing, detox your mac, and others...over and over...terrible

Great free program to find malware and spyware junk is free Malwarebytes anti-malware.It is the best at finding and quarantining malware most programs can't handle, such as the PUP malware.

I don't think they could get coaching from Geno right now anyway, as I do not believe that the NCAA date for early practice has arrived yet....

Exactly! But TBS IS getting Geno's coaching right now. So she should be in Storrs instead??

Not at all, you said the team wasn't getting coaching from Geno now but Breanna was. Which is true. My point is that the team wouldn't be getting Geno for awhile anyway. Breanna is where she should be. Sheesh.
