And in this case, I don't think it's irrational to infer some enthusiasm about UConn from his decision to visit Storrs first.

UConn would be first just based on his currently being in New York. Although that doesn't rule out enthusiasm.

I'd have to think that this kid, who is probably ready to get on a college campus ASAP and already went through an entire recruitment process knows very well what he is looking for in a program.

Hurley shouldn't let him leave campus once he gets here for the visit. Throw him right into summer workouts lol. Have Cam coach him while the coaches are in a no practice period lol

Hasn't this guy been close to 100% wrong on everything Uconn? If he's saying Alabama, I like our chances..

This guy has 1,500 followers, which is inexplicably the same number of times he's been linked to here, and coincidentally also the same number of times he's been wrong about something.

It's basically the same value as citing the fake insider whose Twitter bio says "boob inspector" or whatever.

Is he a one/done or likely 2 year + player?

My problem with Kent, is if he has a source at UConn, that source is clearly wrong most of the time, misleading, or a figment of his imagination. But i'd like to believe the people here who claim he's not a faker.

Like our chances with Liam since we're getting on campus (with Mom?). Portal Madness is percolating. Gotta believe that our targets are feeling that they need to "stuff" or get off of the pot. UConn interest at a peak. Are you in or out?

“All the time” is hyperbole

And so what. It’s the internet and it’s just sports. No one is trying to “look good”. Honestly who cares
I gave you a “like” but here I am on the BY, which is clearly more profound than Twitter.

Good sign that we’re the only visit set up with him. Biancardi seems close with the family as well. Did his initial commitment video
I don’t like that Cal showed up there. I’m afraid he made Liam a large $ offer(say $1.5 million) that we can’t come close to matching(Dauster reporting we can offer 750k). I do think money matters to some degree here. Single mother, sole proprietor of a startup.

Listen at the end of the day- as Hurley said if the kid or player is going to start the conversation about how much money can they get it’s probably not a good fit for UConn anyways.

With that said, I would imagine that McNeely knows that already & is coming for a visit not because of just how much money he can make this year- but he understands that in the bigger picture on the player development side this program & staff can put a lot more money in his pockets down the road- like in 2025 2026 draft nights- similar to what Castle is going to soon get.

I don’t actually worry about Cal anymore. The kind of kid that DH wants is not the type that will want to play for Cal imo. Flash v substance.

His 247 scout, if he doesn’t sound like a kid that would thrive here idk what would:

Liam McNeeley has one of the best combinations of skill and basketball acumen in the national class. He came up the ranks known as a shooter – and for good reason as he has clean mechanics, a compact release, and shot over 40% from behind the three-point line in both the NIBC and EYBL seasons – but he’s far more versatile than just a specialist. He’s particularly adept at coming off screens, making instinctual reads, and then attacking defenders while they are on the move. That can mean movement threes, but it can also mean curls, dribble penetration, and an ability to get downhill at times. McNeeley has a high natural feel for the game and is a good passer who can also facilitate for others around him. In fact, Montverde frequently made him the featured player of their half-court offense during his junior season and relied on his ability to make decisions with the ball in his hands, not necessarily as a primary ball-handler, but as the first domino in many of their actions. Physically, he’s not especially long or athletic, but he has legit size at over 6-foot-7 with his shoes on, a sturdy base, and increasingly strong and cut upper body. He’s made strides being able to stay in front of more athletic wings on the defensive end, in large part because he’s aware enough to be in the right spots and take the right angles. Overall, McNeeley may not have the ideal physical measurables of a prototypical five-star prospect, but he is one of the most consistently productive and reliable basketball players in the class

I see it as less flash vs substance (which it is) and more having a chill year, making money, and going to the league versus getting pushed to your max and having to sacrifice.

Another way of looking at it is Cal flew down there and didn’t leave with a visit planned. He mighta gotten the impression it’s done, who knows?
