How has Flower Mound lost 7 games? Lauren Cox must not have any help, or they play against very tough competition.

Not much help at all. Two games ago Cox and one teammate scored all of their points in the game. Cox has been great the last 12 or so games. I need to figure out her stats over that period.

Cox has reduced her list of schools from the last public reporting of 13 down to 9. UConn is one of the nine.

Cox said she is considering offers from nine schools. They include some of the top programs like Connecticut, Notre Dame, Duke and UCLA. She said she’s not leaning toward any school as the moment.

I dont seem to have access to the article. Would you mind posting the 9 schools, or the 5 you have yet to mention?
Or, are those the only schools mentioned, and we are to wonder about the other 5?

That paragraph is all there is on her school list. I'm guessing Louisville, Baylor, and Texas are also still in play, but that's a guess.

Cox remains undecided upon a collegiate destination and owns so many scholarship offers that she actually pulled out her phone to read her “short” list of potential destinations: Baylor, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, SMU, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UConn and UCLA. The basketball world must wait for an answer, including LeBron James.

That's still the list of 13. Possibly she has the 9 finalists memorized :p

Yeah, just to be clear, that list of 13 was released in January. Obviously, she has eliminated four of those schools.

Cox will play on a loaded AAU team this summer Texas United. There is a lot of young talent on her Team.

Cox' season is going to end tonight. The lack of talent and athleticism around her is stark. If she were an average player FM might have five wins.

Flower Mound got blown out by a vastly superior opponent. Cox did not have a particularly good or impactful game yet still finished with 22 points, 11 boards, and at least 10 blocks. She forced some long jumpers early but later made some plays inside when she had room. Several times she started her back-down post moves from outside the FT line since she was often surrounded near the basket. She still forces some things and can get sloppy but that can all be fixed with experience and coaching. The length, athleticism, mobility, skill, and footwork are all there.

Didn't see that game, but remember her USA play last summer, and that last sentence is very spot-on.

Article on Cox' situation and her upcoming summer:

Sherika Nelson, Cox's high school coach, said her star player also showed more maturity as she led Flower Mound to its first regional title.

....

Cox said there's no timetable for when her list would be cut. Nelson expects a top three or four will emerge by the end of the summer and that a decision will be made by November's early signing period.

4/15 update - rumor

An insider at the OU Sooner board has apparently confirmed a post by a Sooner fan that Oklahoma is no longer on Cox' list of potential schools. Before this confirmation, another poster followed up the original post saying that not only is OU off her list but so are two others (Tenn, A&M), leaving UConn, ND, Texas, Baylor, South Carolina, and Louisville.

Here's the thread:
