Lastly, his view on the portal opening the day after conference tourney finals / Selection Sunday was spot on. Whether it be WBB, MBB, or CFB, it seems that the folks making these decisions on dates do not holistically look at the entire landscape within each sport, and analyze the impact of the dates of each event. The CFB calendar is absolute nuts. For WBB, the portal is open 44 days, and it overlaps with NLI signings by 14 days. It would be interesting to see what happened if it opened either before the Final Four (29 days) or after the NCAAT final (22 days).
