good for them - having fun going to a sporting event. it's not like Connecticut has MLB, NBA, NFL or NHL teams... besides UCONN, unless they want to go to NYC or Boston, it's pretty much D-league hockey. any other pro sports in Connecticut worth mentioning?
Wasn't as "awful" as it was uneventful. She did seem off her game. Even if she isn't scoring (only took 5 shots tonight) she's usually in there hustling for rebounds, finding some other way to get into the mix. But tonight she seemed really tentative and too relaxed and for the most part contributed very little. This was one of the few games you'll see her on the bench in crunch time. Good thing for the Lynx that Monica Wright stepped her game up. With Maya not playing well, they needed someone to do so.
I thought I saw Kiah there, but she was going around a corner and I didn't even have time for a double-take. Neither team looked all that great, if the Sun had made their layups that was a very winnable game. The only players out there playing consistently well were Brunson and Wright for the Lynx and Lawson for the Sun.
I agree about Lawson. She hit some critical shots to get the Sun in hte game when it looked like the Lynx might pull away.. Charles had 20 points in the 1st half and zip in the second. She got a lot of ORs but I think they were all on one play. Montgomery scored but it seemed like she was 4-85 throwing up a lot of out of control shots. Asjah Jones was a turnover machine. In any case the Sun could have won the game but they collapsed in the last 3-4 minutes. Lots of turnovers and missed shots. I thought Augustus was the best player on the floor last night. I thought Moore had a terrible game. We were sitting in the section behind her and she looked out of sorts. I don't think she smiled during the entire game.
