For those unfamiliar, he's PSU OC
He would be a great pickup for you guys.
This would be too perfect.
That's what I see behind the timing of the firing. I don't think they fire today if they didn't have "the guy".
He's the coach we need!
Oh my god please don't even tease me with this.
Totally agree with this. UCONN is not going through another search.
So who could it be besides Moorhead?
T.J. Weist - Still OC at USF, who put up HUGE numbers this year. Was passed over for the HC job in favor of Charlie Strong
P.J. Fleck - One of the hotter small-school coaching names out there after turning Western Michigan around. Have to think he's waiting for a B1G job tho
Randy Edsall - We all have to admit that 1) it might be Burton who wrote a check to get rid of Diaco, and 2) that could mean Randy's return
Greg Schiano - Can recruit & win in the northeast, currently AHC for Ohio State
Al Golden - Was good at Temple but a disaster at Miami. Currently TE coach for the Lions
Any other names I'm forgetting?
I think we are overlooking the head coach at James Madison University... Mike Houston. Great coach, offense puts up big points and his players are the same caliber as Uconn athletes.
Other than Fleck that list doesn't excite me.
Bobby Wilder head coach Old Dominion
UConn fires Diaco after 3 years, offensive woes
Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is expected to be a candidate for UConn's vacancy. Moorhead will coach Penn State against USC on Jan. 2 in the Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual.
Dayum. From ESPN.com.
Fleck is a pipe dream. Not happening.
Rhett Lashlee - OC at Auburn who's considered an up-and-comer. Just 33-years-old. Obvious Benedict ties.
I'll take Moorehead in a New York second.
Nathan doubling down on his tweet
Made 600k last year. Reduction in HC salary would help with Discos buyout.
Please god not the last 3.
Fox Sports' Torres: Todd Orlando could be UConn head coaching target | Hookem.com
Zero shot at Fleck.
Also tweeted by (Nathan?) is Moorheads replacement at Fordham Andrew Breiner. Was grad assistant at UConn under Joe while he was here and became Passing Game coordinator at Fordham under Joe.
Orlando would be interesting. I'm not interested in Weist, no P associations please. Schiano....Eh. RE, Golden, other retreads - no.
I'd be ecstatic with Moorehead, Orlando or Wiest.
So when I posted "Celebration" to start this thread, I left my computer playing Kool and the Gang. It is perfect background music for this thread. Up temp and optimistic. Listening to Boogie Nights right now.....
I say we hire Nick Saban. We can give him Bridgeport and half of Waterbury.
Is this is true, the board perception of DB will go a full 180 in mere minutes. As a university, we absolutely NEED DB to be the real deal, and I'm starting to think this is possible.
Just my guess, but I think Moorhead will stay at Penn State another year (which should be a good one) with the hopes of landing at a Power 5 conference school for 2018. UConn's lack of a major conference affiliation really hurts in this regard.
WHOA -- Levy is legit.
If that's the case, props to Dave Benedict and the administration for handling this remarkably well.
I like this guy last go round.
Separate names with a comma.
