I'd sure appreciate a report. Those knuckleheads did not send the invitation until just Friday for a Tuesday event. I had another commitment that could not be canceled. Did the fans show appropriate excitement over this great start? Did Kelsey, Alex, Jazz, Camille and Alyssa get their props or was it the typical huge cheer for Kelly and polite applause for everyone else [sigh]? That makes me cringe EVERY home game. So disrespectful to the others, and by the way, unfair and awkward for Kelly.

Tiffany got cheered and Angel got boo'ed (every time she touched the ball) when the dream was in town. is this a UConn crowd at the Sun games?

Yup. Why else would a Native American casino buy the failed Orlando franchise (with Nykesha Sales) and move them to a rural area in a small state? Probably the same reason there have been so many NCAA regionals in CT - there are WBB fans there! And guess what - they happen to be UCONN fans first, and probably most are much more serious UCONN fans than WNBA or Sun fans.

I attended. I would say that all the players got cheered equally. I was bracing myself for the roar when Kelly was introduced but it really wasn't any louder than the others. I don't recall any questions being directed to her. Those posing questions usually started off by congratulating them on their record so far. Nykesha was emcee and did a nice job.

Thanks JBMudd.
Did anyone compliment Kelsey B for her improvement this year? If there's a league MIP award, it goes to her so far, in my opinion.

Did anyone give props to Camille and Jazz for their leadership? Lets face it. Camille did not want to come here... I think she is handling it very well.

Also, what was the mystery gift this year? It has ranged from a really nice set of glasses one year to some real dollar shop junk.

Bone's improvement and Camille & Jazz's leadership were noted by several questioners. Now that I've had my coffee, more is coming back to me:D. A couple of themes emerged in the answers. First of all, the team is using the low expectations for them as a motivator uniting them in a way probably nothing else could have. Second, the team is having fun - in practice and in games. I know a lot of times players will give this answer but it's only lip-service. From their body language and their interaction with each other on the stage, I felt that they all meant it.

Ah, they mystery gift. You certainly didn't miss out on anything. It was an autograph book with each of the players' pictures. It was nicely done but I felt it was a little "underwhelming" as a Season ticket holder thank you gift. I'd be interested to know from other WNBA team season ticket holders if their teams hold these types of events and give thank you gifts. If so, what is done and what has been some of the previous gifts.

JB-

I'm pretty sure other teams also hold events, but I haven't been to any. I, too, would be curious.

A "back-in-the-day" recollection - the first year of the "W" the Liberty held an autograph session for season tix holders, and they had the players in pairs with separate lines. In the time allotted, you could not get everyone, and Lobo was out of the question by the time we got there. The longest line that we did was Sue Wicks (Rutgers connection) and we did a couple of short lines - I think Rhonda Blades and Jasmina Perazic-Gipe, and I feel like we either had Kym Hampton or T-Spoon, but not both. We did get then coach Nancy Darsch to sign the ball as well; while she was not "officially" a signee, but she had a group "gather round" her as she passed through, so she took a seat and signed for folks, which was very nice. Still have the ball, but not sure where.

The first year the Sun were in CT, the season ticket holders didn't even fill sections 25 and 26 at the Mohegan arena. They stationed all the players around the arena and they signed autographs until every Season ticket holders had visited every player. Of course, it's much better for the viability of the team that there are so many Season ticket holders now but you do have to pick and choose for which autographs you want to stand in line.

Thanks for the info, JB.
